Skip white space when printing

Hi
I have a SP300 and when i print a design which is smaller than my media width, then the print head travels left, till the end of media.
Is there a way to skip this? Its time consuming.

Tech told me the reason for a full width scan was for ink drying when using take up reels. Sounds plausible.

At some speeds (some profiles) on our xc-540, we need the time of the full scan if we are using the take-up roller. This is especially true if printing on a stock with a non absorbent backing, ie. banner...
