You have a projection problem.

You have a problem following the rules here. Read the damn guidelines on how to post. Debate someone's ideas or opinions, not the person. Is there anyone monitoring these threads in the slightest?

Replace where you wrote "socialists" with literally any political party in existence. Everyone wants to control others while doing whatever they want. Its the most base of human nature.

This ^^^^^

You have a projection problem.

hahahahahahahaha because he/she pointed out the truth? If you don't think the current reigning political party is all about controlling others, you might want to back up and try rethinking that. It's what political parties do. We, as a nation, just decide which types of control we are okay with through the voting booth.

Do you really think it's types of control we are Okay with through our voting ?? If that were the case, why are there so many arguments and disillusioned people running around ?? I used to think it's nothing more than a popularity contest at best, but the last 10 years have proven that theory totally wrong. It's basically about who gets lucky and figures out the mechanism running the boat.

If it were about who we think is worth voting for, none of these people would be running. I'm not particularly fond of Trump, but up against Hillary, there was no question in my mind. Between all the lies, excuses and just plain dumb answers to point blank questions, she had no business running this country. With Trump's background, I'm not so sure about him, either, but it was a Uuge much better deal than her.

With the lineup I see coming up on the horizon for the liberals, it really doesn't look much better. In my opinion, they've already given up for 2020 and just gonna have a show to say they run in the election. They have no one to run against Trump anymore, so they'll just wait til he's out on his own..... unless he pulls an FDR.

The masters tell the slaves that they aren't slaves because they get to vote for the leaders that the masters pick for the slaves.

Just saw in the news that one of the Democrat presidential contenders is running on the platform of imprisoning gun owners. That should get him far!

We are living in interesting times.

Ahhh..... tis the old Chinese Curse you are thinking about, I presume.... which isn't even Chinese. As described many times over the years of the treachery and turmoil of wars, chaos and the experience of hunger and fear which all together breeds much pain. We're all feeling it.

While you're playing snark master, how about we take a look at what Guam would look like without the U.S. military's presence and direct transfer payments ( a fancy phrase for welfare ) it receives?
You might want to look into Guam's history a bit and see the price the islanders have paid for that 'welfare'.

I have.

I'm no fan of colonialism, military expansionism or imposing our will on anyone. I'm sure it's had its negative outcomes and for that, I can empathize with you, but am powerless to do anything about it.

In 1982, you all voted overwhelmingly to maintain the status quo and relationship with the U.S. so I'm not sure how folks really feel about our presence there.

I'm sure Okinawans, Phillipinos, etc. have serious misgivings about our forced presence on their lands as well. In exchange for that strategic positioning, the U.S. has protected them and you from foreign invasion and propped up the economy.

IMHO: The key to ALL things in life is balance. Too much of a good thing is always bad. Perfect example: Water Poisoning

In my opinion, if you could set aside your opinions, biases and truly boil any political policy argument down to the nuts and bolts that effect individual people/cases you'll (hopefully) see that both sides of the argument are usually in fact quite valid. Problem is there is no such thing as pragmatic compromise in politics/society any more. It's just, "The opinion of my side is right, and the opinion of your side is wrong and there is no middle ground.

The problem is always the bad players, who generally represent a smaller potion of their political/economic population. Those who try to get one over on the government by trying to take more than they truly deserve, or give less than their fair share to society as a whole. It seems more and more of us who are generally just trying to keep our heads down and carve out a decent life keep getting sucked up into the vortex. It seems it's getting harder and harder to find someone who doesn't hold some level of disdain for the other side.

There just seems to be a "win at all costs" mentality. Actually, not even win at all costs so much as completely dominate the other side. No wins for you = all the glory to us! Can't let the other side get even the smallest victory because they might get more votes, which might lead to more victories.

Here is what I hear from most conservative arguments: All things liberal are evil! All things conservative are handed to us straight from God. The liberals want to take away all of your freedoms and control your every move. The liberals want to take away all of your money and give it to the most undeserving portion of the population.

The corporate controlled news media outlets have become monsters of our own creation! Sensationalism sells and the share holders demand nothing less than constantly increasing sales. There are no such thing as mole hills any more. Everything must be a mountain!

I personally feel we need responsible, pragmatic slightly left of center policies for our nations social/infrastructure issues, balanced with responsible, pragmatic, slightly right of center policies for our fiscal/moral issues. Why does it always have to be red or blue? Purple ain't a bad color... so long is it's not the color of your skin. That might indicate some sort of health issue.

Just me half a cent.

Except that's not what he is proposing.

What I read from multiple sources is that he is proposing the renewal of the assault weapons ban that we had between 1994-2004. Those who do not turn their wepaons in and are caught committing crimes with those banned military style assault weapons could face prison time.

That's a HUGE distinction from what you posted.

No need to make excuses for the guy who supports infringing our second amendment right.

My sources say the guy wants to imprison Americans who do not disarm when his idea of government demands our guns. Ask yourself this question: why would a government official want to disarm the people?

I wonder if you or anyone else might find this interesting. While many would have us believe that we are inextricably divided and at odds, this physics professor has created these maps of our political leanings and distribution based on actual voting data. The idea of a "purple" America has been toyed with since the 2000 election and this article is two years old, but at least it offers a glimpse into how we all have far more in common than we are led to believe by the trainwreck, gaper's block media and ideologues who strive to divide and conquer us.

How about you quote some of your "sources" and back up what you assert?

First of all, our country has banned military style, assault weapons and ammunition of many types several times over our history, so his proposal to buy back those types of weapons is hardly unprecedented.

Show us where he said he wanted to "disarm" gun owners of all guns as you keep alluding to?

Political porn is real. It's an addiction just the same as any other. I'm no counselor but y'all need to get your priorities right and stop this nonsense. If you guys post this garbage on a sign forum, Id be afraid to see what goes on in more relevant places with more engagement. This started as a good topic and has really proved the original point. What a train wreck. 2ct.. you spoke too soon

The problem is you can’t go anywhere on here without Johnny McGlobalwarming bringing up his nonsense.
