SP-300v Service call 0107 ....again

I posted a similar issue a couple of years ago, which I solved by doing a linear initialization and cleaning my encoder strip. This time, I have done the same procedure, as well as (by instruction of a tech) flipped my encoder strip upside down to see if that would solve the problem, with no luck. I've also done an environmental match etc. with no luck.

I turn on the printer, as soon as the material clamp is lowered, I get "service call 0107".

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Just looked in my service manual and it says the encoder set-up has not been done. I'm taking this as: if you changed or flopped the encoder strip, the censor is recognizing it.

When you lower the pinch rolls, the head should move to get the strip width, but it doesn't see the encoder strip.

error codes

i don't have the solution but i do have a copy of the error codes maybe this will help with what you need to do (i have used it a few times and at least it told me what the code meant so i knew what to do from there)

Thank you for the replies! I am back up and running, but still don't know why I was having the problem. I went and ate lunch, came back, ran the initialization/setup another couple of times and now it works..... go figure.

I am going to assume that I will need a new encoder strip and/or linear encoder board sooner than later. My printer is 6 years old and I guess I can't complain too much if the only parts I have replaced are dampers, a head, and a pump.

BTW, Does anyone have access to a service manual that they wouldn't mind sending me? In a recent computer crash, that was one of the few things that didn't get backed up. Thanks again!
