Sp300i sometimes doesn't cut

While printing a lot of large size decals, I had the odd experience that sometimes my sp300i doesn't cut. After printing it won't detach the cut head from the printhead, and the display just keeps saying...now processing.

I print/cut about 50 decals (same file) and it did so on 3 decals. Looks like it is stuck 'thinking.'
I work around the problem by printing the crop marks, so if it refuses to cut, i don't have to throw away the print.

Decals are appr. 1.5 meters in length. Simple text banners with rectangle cutout. Nothing fancy.

Any ideas?

Hello Tim,

It sounds like it may be a computer/printer communication issue more than just a printer issue. We sometimes see this when the printer isn't using the latest firmware and/or the latest version of VersaWorks.

How can you tell if you have the latest version of firmware?

At the moment i'm in the middle of relocating my business. The pc running versa works was not connected to the internet (i hate windows and internet and it runs only versa works, all other stuff is done on macs.)

When all is setup at the new location i will look for latest updates/firmware.

I print/cut another 30 metres without any problems the last 2 days. Weird.
