SP540V slow printing (head stops at each end for few seconds)

that is the stupidest explanation i have ever heard.
it has less to do with 3rd party inks, than it does with phases of the moon...

perhaps he should spin a dead chicken over his head during the full moon...

i will at least be honest enough to tell you i am not sure why it happens, (IT IS INDEED RELATED TO SPOOLING, HOWEVER SPOOLING AND THE RIP PROCESSES ARE NOT ALL THAT TIED TOGETHER , EITHER)

go ahead and stop the spooler, etc but, if it works lets all just say "it's a mystery and beyond our understanding"

i apologize, having a bad day, but, i still can't see how 3rd party inks are the culprit
your suggestion MAY WELL solve his problem, which, i think has to do with poor engineering at the software company

again, sorry i jumped down your throat

Hi, I'm interested by your solution :)
You should post your solution in the name of sharing... That's what this forum is all about!
Wasn't sure if anyone was still having the issue!

Also worth noting that this will probably only work for expired inks (i.e. not 3rd party, but haven't tested) Anyway, solution below:

We need to get into service mode first, because we're going to fudge the machines internal clock!

So, with the back power switch OFF:
-Hold the down, up and right keys while powering on from the back. You should then be met with a 'system switch' page.
-Scroll to page 10 and enter. All the values you see should be '0'. You need to change the last digit to '1'. (If its already showing '1' then someone has already unlocked it)
-Power the machine off from the front
-The next bit is a bit like an old playstation 2 cheat, so might take a couple of attempts!
-In quick succession, press: down, right, left, up, right, down, left THEN press and hold: left, down, right and power
-This should get you into the menu with all the good stuff.
-From there, navigate to the time and date settings, and wind back the date as you see fit.

Hope this helps!

When this happens to me on my sp-540v it was too much in the versaworks cue list. I deleted all the old jobs and bam, back to full speed. And I use this party ink and have never had to do anything.
