I received the email on Oct 21st which was before the original poster's post date.

I know there is a way to find out when that website was uploaded, but I don't remember how to do it. Maybe someone else does.

I don't care who is right and who was wrong...I just know, I highly doubt either one of these guys created the logo. I'm sure it is a stock panel that both copied and put their respective business names in there.

I'm sure we have all used stock panels in our day for certain things, I just can figure out why in the world you would use one, and then present it as a original work on a logo design forum.

The Internets tell me that it was at least present on January 26, 2012. That is the earliest recorded version of that webpage with the logo.

Who copied who?

I don't know who copied who, but there is way to much similarity in the two designs for one NOT to be a copy of the other.

Same circular background with star burst.

Same checkered flags.

Same shaped panel behind name.

Same name "Rick's".

Same star top center of panel.

Same basic colors.

Same small city and state boxes on the bottom.

Also a Google search shows the signature version was uploaded to face book on September 10, 2012.
