been seeing these all over the place for less than half price but can't see any reviews anywhere. Has anyone tried them? surely $200 worth a try if it works for couple years. here is the Amazon listing

$200 is definitely a scam in my experience. There are no 3rd party Epson printheads so they all come from an Epson factory. At worst, a $200 DX4 seller will just take your money and run. At best, it's stolen and might actually work in your machine, if they actually send it to you. It's best to just go to a trusted vendor. Your dealer probably wants an arm and a leg for it but there are other vendors who can help you out. A fair price for that head is going to be $450-550.

Most I run into are rebuilds. Manifolds and gaskets are cheap, so a typical rebuild would be a cheap job to do, and the DX4s are dinosaurs at this point (unless you're Roland). Lots of machines coming up for scrapping, so pulls are pretty common. I just grab new ones from Digiprint for $400-ish since, for a head, that's pretty cheap.

If it's anything from Indonesia, it's a scam.

I took one for the team and ordered to see what the deal was. They sent an old, damaged and non working oem head. lol. something they found in the bin and decide to sell it. Not even a used working head. The nozzle plate totally chipped and corroded. Check out the box it came in, haha. All those listings that show a blank white label are scams. Going through refund process is a hassle

Most heads that are 'rebuilt' are junk. For a while on some heads, it was actually feasible to, with the proper tools, remove the nozzle plate and old glue and install a new one. But the day of the DX5 being worth $1500 and people buying photo printers just to yank the head is long gone and people are dumping old stock for dirt cheap. If you just need a piece to abuse or test things on, might be worth the gamble. As for 'counterfeit' heads, I don't think I have run into that, most are just mislabeled or badly labeled.

Gotta love all those stock images, used on so many listings. Amazon in the US tends to be 30%+ higher in general in the US at least. eBay too, at least on wide format stuff. Though, not familiar with your market.

What did you expect :D Honestly, there are no third party heads, no refurbished ones, and none that work for $200

I don't expect much from Amazon and Alibaba but from this website I expect people to only comment when they have something positive, proactive and/or useful to say.

Well this is an open forum, and you don't control the site, so people are free to say what they like. You aren't the only person on here, or the only one with valid opinions, despite what you may wish.
Also letting others know that cheap heads are a scam is useful

I have been scammed 4 times of 4 purchases, with different vendors and dates. Lucky I payed the 4 times with PayPal and they already know and returned me the money. So for me is better to bet those 200 on lottery hahahah
