Too many fonts....

Hi all, I have a question for all you font experts hopefully I can get an answer.. How do you get rid of all installed fonts besides what came with windows? Is there an easy way or will I have to go one by one a delete them individually? Like an idiot I installed about 40,000 fonts and use about 20 of them so I wanna get rid of a majority of them.

i would say you have to delete them individually. here's a list of standard windows fonts. maybe you could put them in a folder except for arial, delete the rest then reinstall the ones in the folder. just a guess

Font Management Program. Bitstream's Font Navagator is good, but there are
many out there. Font Navagator come on the CorelDRAW disk.

I have created a file on my hard drive called Just Fonts for storing fonts.
With Font Navagator you can install and uninstall easily as they are needed.

Also have the one that comes with Corel, but prefer the one above.

Installing and uninstalling fonts is a simple click of the mouse.
(FYI, typically you have to stop and restart a program to get it to see the new fonts you installed if it was open when you installed them.)

Linotype has a free font manager, FontExplorer. Physically having fonts on your harddrive is far different than having them all loaded in your system. I fought for three years at my last job to get co-workers to keep their fonts closer to 100 than 1000… they probably went back after I left!

Never just delete a font.. If you do you could cause a small problem that will make your life miserable..

Use the correct tools..

They won't be there when you need 'em. If you used them in a previous graphic file and go to open it up you are sol.

There are also system fonts you don't want to mess with.
