That wasn't my question. My question was: was there a location given?

The reason I ask is because that's part of OPSEC rules in the military. My son is in the Navy. When he goes on deployment, underways or patrols, we fall into opsec/persec rules (actually he doesn't tell me anything because I have a big mouth and I"m totally ok with that because it's all for the safety of the people in the mission). Same is true in this instance. They followed opsec rules.
Not to beat a dead horse...

But I've Been watching a few more legal analysis of it , along with the Senate hearings - looks like the group was named "Houth PC small group".. not an exact location,.but wouldn't naming the group of people be against opsec? Since Houthis are pretty much only in Yemen... And looks like naming all the weapons used as well as time it was going to happen also goes against opsec?

Now either everyone in the group doesnt understand that, and are utterly incompetent.... Or more likely, they're all just trying to cover their asses and sweep it under the rug.

Seems weird to me that signal is an approved app to have classified, or non classified convos though... Everything is supposed to be recorded and kept for xx amount of years, which isnt how signal works. And from what they've been saying, Biden's admin is the one who approved signal to be used.

So hopefully if nothing else, this brought light to the usage of signal and it sparks new policy to not use it.

Trump is already a step ahead of you on this and said the exact same thing. Imagine that, you're agreeing with trump.
Thats the difference I'm noticing more and more... There are quite a few things Trump is doing that I agree with.... I'm just not afraid to admit it. I'm Capable of calling out all the dumb shit he does, while still agreeing with some policies he's implementing... I wish more people would do the same!

youre canadian. why would you be afraid to admit it?

btw: are you afraid to admit when the other presidents made dumb shit mistakes?

It is though. The default setting in Signal is to keep messages, I have Signal messages from Feb 22022 when I started using it. You have to intentionally set messages to auto delete, which is one of the many reasons this is so concerning. What else have they talked about and set to auto delete so they can cover their tracks?

Trump just blamed it on Signal, saying it was "defective". It's always someone else's fault when something goes wrong, every single time.
Just curious...how is it trumps fault? "blaming" and actually doing something about it are two different things. He's taking care of the problem so that it won't happen again. this mission was a success.
and what if biden had done the same thing? Or kamala? or obama?

I already stated that trump has come out and said they are investigating this so it won't happen again. ..your response is..."but next time..."

Just curious...how is it trumps fault?
It's not his fault directly, but he is in charge, he did put those people in those positions, and rather than saying something along the lines of "we're looking into what happened, who added him, why they broke the law and set their messages to automatically delete, blah blah blah", he goes straight to "it was probably the apps fault".

And your response is "it was no big deal because nothing went wrong". It is a big deal, they got lucky that nothing went wrong, it shouldn't be just casually dismissed.

no. my response was that the mission was a success. None of us wouldn't have known ANYTHING had the journalist not said a word....

he also said he's looking into making sure it doesn't happen again. what do you think he should do? oh let me guess, fire pete hegseth? mike waltz?

Why should anybody be afraid to admit when somebody does something stupid?

The owner of my company, my boss, did something stupid I wouldn't be afraid to tell him what an idiot he is.

What bugs me the most is it seems like most ( not all) mega people treat it like a cult, the higher-ups can't do anything wrong... Call them out and all the sudden you're a trader. Give them unrefutable proof... And the topic changes, or they find some other way to argue their point.

Doesn't take being a Canadian to see how s***** the current government is being run.

I know it won't make a difference to you guys, so I've never said it, but I'm actually a dual citizen - my wife is american, and I lived in America until my mid to late 20s.

I also voted for Trump, because well I didn't think you'd be a good president, I thought he'd be a hell of a lot better one than Hillary due to her email situation... It was probably my first and last time voting, even though there's nothing preventing me from doing it. I've never brought it up because despite what some people say on here, being American or Canadian or even if I lived across the world in China.... Citizenship has nothing to do with whether somebody is incompetent or not.... Doesn't matter where you live, whether you vote blue or red, you should be able to see that this was a major screw up.... It honestly blows my mind that there's still a good chunk of people that are arguing that it isn't a big deal... Get those same people were calling for Hillary's head about her email server... It's Hypocritical.

Well lets talk about those emails with hillary..what became of that? NOTHING. nothing happened with benghazi. nothing happened with the afghanistan pullout. IN FACT, the only reason why the secret service director resigned after the trump assassination attempt was because she got a lot of heat for it. NOTHING has happened for years under all of these other presidents. so tell me again how I'm not supposed to defend a man who is going up against these corrupt politicians?

What became of it? Well, it personally made me not just not vote for her... But to vote against her, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So I'd say it had a pretty big cost to her.

A lot should have happened to a lot of things but dont ... Just because the politicians are corrupt and turn a blind eye, doesn't mean you should.

This isn't grade 2, two wrongs don't make a right. You defend someone if an injustice is happening to them, but you don't blindly defend them, especially when it's so obvious they're wrong.

If Biden was in charge and it was democratic people in charge and caused that leak... Would you feel the same way that it's no biggie? You should look at what happened, why it happened, and what the response was... I can honestly say it wouldn't matter to me whether it was Republican Democrat Green party or just some random independent guy, if you screw up, then deny and act like you did nothing wrong, then trying to deflect the blame on other people... I don't think you reached the bar to be having the highest security clearance.

And yes, that goes to Hillary, and anyone else that is willing to put sensitive information at risk like it's just a normal document or text chat
