I don't care what eggs cost. In all reality, if I have 2 eggs every day and 2 pieces of toast for breakfast it's cheaper and healthier than poisonous cereal which nobody should eating.

Eggs at $6/18 = .33 egg
Bread $3.18/20 = .16 slice - cheaper and healthier if you make your own!!!

.98 per day for breakfast? Even if you have 6 people in your family...$5.88 for one meal?

The only thing cheaper is oatmeal at .13 per half cup serving of Great Value. Add some blueberries to the oatmeal and you're still under $1.

We are first in cheese and second in milk and butter production. I'm pretty sure we are number one for the nation's cranberries, cherries and ginseng (weird). Land O'Lakes is a few blocks West of my shop and Sargento a few blocks East. Every countryside drive contains views of cows and corn and the smell of manure.

When I did payroll for Land O' Lakes I started with 367 farms. I quit 6-ish years later we were down to 160-ish from small farms selling all their head to the mega farms due to retirement and kids not wanting to take the farms over. The dairy industry has really evolved over the last 10-15 years. Very few small farms of under 100 head exist. Most are now 500+ with rotating or floating parlors. My ex in-laws still milk 70 head a day, they are 77 yrs old LOL

Wisconsin and the cheese heads! I'd love to see the small farms come back into production.

Not entirely sure that you can get your hands on anything labeled as Arkansas rice where you are, but here's a list of brands that utilize it. Funny enough, Anheuser-Busch is top of the list... so if you're enjoying a fine light beer, it's likely AR rice giving you the buzz.

Haven't read any of the thread but here is my take:

Country 1:

Taxes its citizens and controls where/what they can buy

Country 2 in response:

Farms should be family owned and operated, with the help of cooperative, state, provincial and federal resources. Foreign, bank, multi-national (Blackrock) ownership or rich people ownership, where they wouldn't know the end of a pitchfork if they were sitting on it (Gates), should be outlawed. It's 2025 and the idea of farms shuttering or big business holding food for ransom while there is famine across the planet is ridiculous.

Daft make work projects by the Canadian federal government training people to open a tattoo parlour or a franchise coffee shop make no sense when farms are going dormant or are understaffed.

Why the heck are we importing apple juice and garlic from China or South Africa when BC and Ontario made enough to satisfy the entire country and then some? NY, PA and probably most US states are in the same boat.
