How does Corel handle .pdf files and artboards and borders?
All pfd's sent to us as "print ready" get checked first. How do I check them? Import them into Corel. 9 times out of 10 they aren't the size given by the customer. They either forgot to include a "sign blank" or forgot to include the "artboard" I have no idea. Another annoyance is sending a file with "prepress marks" i.e. crop marks and such and still tell me it's "to size" . I don't see it that way at all. If one specifies 18 x 24 then it better be 18 x 24 not 18.56 x 24.56. That just means more art time for me.
If by chance the pdf is unusable i.e. fonts go wonky or out of whack then I'll try and open in illustrator and re-save as pdf and sometimes that fixes it.
Sometimes can I use Acrobat Pro to fix or get what I need.
If all else fails I use photoshop to rasterize that pia file.
