VP-540 Laying down TONS of ink

I have a VP-540 that had some issues with low quality aftermarket ink. I have changed the caps and dampers and I am now using OEM roland ink. Whenever I print anything the ink lays down real heavy. Please help me figure out any setting that may regulate this. Thank you :signs101:

I have the exact same issue. Vp 540. New Roland ink, new yellow cap, new wipers. I think it's spitting. We're getting overspray and pooling.

Could be a few things that I can think of right away...

Heater Settings, Media (brand/type), Profile

List these for more to see and maybe a bit more help will be sent.

Check:
- Your're using Versaworks (Flexi and others dump ink)
- The profile
- That the overprint is not checked (in Printer Controls)
- Media is good quality
- Heater setting(s) are up to temp
- lastly, shot count of the heads - may be worn out (high count)

solution

In my case- clogged drain tubes caused by bad batch of aftermarket ink. Symptoms act like bad caps/dampers. Look for pooling in the capping station. Nozzle check pattern may or may not show overspray or heavy ink laydown.
