I have net connect / disconnect problems with VP540 that seems to be heat related as I have seen on other threads. I have reached out with email to 3 of the known board technicians. One hasn't replied in over a week (Chester), one from Georgia was kind enough to reply solder connection problem on aging boards and said he could sell me a printer cheap....( evidently a No on repair) and the Canada has still not replied.
Can anyone tell me if there is such a fix that can be done by these repairmen regarding network diconnect problems? Macromedia lists on ebay their apx 200 fix but reading the small print it says to contact him first regarding network issues as it isn't the same repair or something..... IF he doesn't do it it would be simple to say so but apparently he does fix them ? I just can't get a reply but I have seen some of the old remarks here so now that he is on ebay, I was hoping maybe all is sorted out.....
Obviously a fix for 200 is far better than 12-1400 for a board but all I was hoping for was a reply so I could keep moving on this...... Anyone with specific information about this fix or what needs to be changed ? I have wasted several weeks on this and it is kind of frustrating........
My brother says I am jumping the gun thinking to buy a new board and part of me feels like we are waiting for nothing except to be eventually told there is no fix and we HAVE to replace the board.........
What is the catch? Why do they advertise main board repair and not reply to specific inquiry within a reasonable amount of time? I don't need it fixed this second as obviously I have been waiting but I don't make my customers wait long for a reply, even if I can't accomidate them......What am I doing wrong? Should I purchase the "repair" and then send it in to them? I am trying not to waste either of our time and shipping too....... Thanks !
