I'm getting this message when opening VW:

"A connection with the server could not be established"

:help

If it is set to check for updates upon startup, there could be a server error on Roland's side or your ISP DNS routers.

Occasionally we will get that on the first start of the day, but it goes away in 30 seconds or less. If it stays on start checking stuff. Our Roland seems to have an affinity for eating the MOBO's ether port. Slap in a new D-Link I/O card and it's good to go.

Is VW set to check for updates upon each startup? Perhaps try changing it to check weekly for updates. Close VW and reopen and see if error still exists.

It was set to check upon each start-up. Changing to weekly has caused that message to not appear. I guess we'll see what happens in a week's time.

Why would this have suddenly started happening?

Thanks.

Roland's server is probably offline for maintenance or some other reason. Nothing to worry about on your end.

Was getting a "The connection to the server was reset" error earlier when I tried to update, at least it's not just me. Server must be down.
