Montana Hardcore,
Ironlak used to fade but they stepped their game up after a rashing.
Killer Cans from Alsa but super expensive $40 a can - yes I know but unbelievable colors and effects.

One shot sprays real good you can reduce like crazy but probably a third is good enough.
You could even reduce one to one but will be real wet and take a while to dry.
Any mixing shops in the area or auto paint supply go in and see if they have a red your looking for on their screwed up mix shelves and they give a discount to get rid of the stuff that they mixed off color.

Really not enough information here, is it illuminated? What's it made out of? Acylic, poly, what? It sounds to me like you're talking about a embossed pan face. Some photos would be nice.

Unless you strip off the background color, the color will not transmit the light properly if you paint directly over the green with the burgundy. It will look black at night which they may or may not care about. Also is the sign face green on the front or is it back painted?

We use Gripflex or Spraylat, your supplier should be able to get this for you. Spraying illuminated faces can be fun, yes you can use a regular automotive gun, the paint is very thin and requires several (12-15 not unusual) light coats in order to get a nice even "translucency". You'll want a light source behind the panel when you spray so you can see if you're getting a nice even coat. You'll want to spray your maroon first then spray white behind the maroon as well as your letters, the white serves as a diffuser. Good luck, might want to practice on some scrap first

you should spray black grip-flex first, this will make the background opaque.... you can
then spray grip-flex maroon over the black..... during the day it will show the color, at
night with the sign lit, it will be black......

Yes "rattle cans" they rattle so babies won't be scared to use paint.
Just kidding you'd be amazed at the outcome.
They have come a long way with spray paint.
Up to 750ml cans (2 cans in one) every kind of paint and color.
Translucent, transparent, opaque, effects
I would only buy 4 regular cans for that at around $25 and probably use only 3 depending on how big the letters were.
& I have all kinds of spray equipment but I'd use the cans, same outcome with tiny skills involved and less clean up. Yes there is very sh!tty spray cans too just avoid them.
I know guys that can put a very large mural faster than digitally printing and trying to wrap a building and lasts much longer. Very beautiful thing to watch too. I know muralists that can hold your picture and paint it exactly on the wall. Amazing. I'm not that good with photos but, letters fades and logos no problem.
A Dunknin Donuts that I did with an hour to inspection time on a dirty back wall that they would have lost points and bonuses for. Got 100% on their inspection and got their bonuses and so Did I. Ha Ha 6 cans at about $5 a piece for me, Lovely Day.
Definetely not my best work rushing an all. Got the job done, on time, got paid and free coffee for life. These GM's make a $25,000 bonus a year.
Breaking out the airbrush would have taken way too long.

doing a mickey mouse paintjob on some painted concrete and getting some decent results on a 12" flat cut letter dont make using rattle cans a good suggestion for doing a professional quality job on a 60sqft plastic sign faces. There are special paints designed to do the job as others above me have mentioned. Glad your dd job worked out for you though.
