Just need an opinion. Had a new customer (actually an organization that a wife of one of my current customer's belongs to). They were in the market for an "over the street banner". We had not sold any of these before, so kinda new territory for me. We call the City that it was to be hung in, got them to fax over the specs for the banner and special ordered a 36' banner. Now that the banner has come in and my customer has brought it to be hung, the city informed them that they had changed their "specs" and require something different. Okay, this is an expensive banner. I thought that maybe I had ordered the wrong thing, but I have called 4 different vendors and they all sell the same thing...all over the US. I have telephone everyone at city hall including the Mayor and they are very uncooperative. The banner is for a special summer event for children in their city. I feel the city should hang the darn thing and be done with it. I do have the specs in writing. I really don't feel we should have to refund this expensive banner. We are a small shop and I am out some $$ on this one. I thought I might offer to do some screenprinted signs just to help them out. Any ideas?
