i recently bought a roll of LED's and hooked it up to a 9v battery
i'll pull it out and take a pic if you want. got them both off Amazon.

radio shack for the AA battery array, any electric sign supply house for the LED's

most LED power supplies are 12v, but most LED components have limiters to drop to 3v needed, so anything above 3v will work

thanks for the help but after all the leg work customer didn't go with it ( at least not with me) there where some other parts to the project i couldn't do in house ..oh well
