Won't stop printing

I printed a job just for color proofing. Printed about a foot of vinyl, then
canceled the job. Just like always, I aborted the job in Production Mgr. then
canceled it on the printer. Fine. Now, the printer keep wanting to finish the
job that isn't ever there. It can't be in the printers queue or it would print
with the computer off, wouldn't it? Printing on LPT1 .

I can turn the printer on and all is well. "Plot OK" reads in the LCD window.
If I turn the computer on, the job then starts printing again. Flexi or
Production Mgr. are not ever open. The job has been completely deleted form
PM. Where is it coming from? I have unpluged everything over night. And
it still keeps trying to print as soon as the computer is turned on.

Where do I go to delete this print job?

At times it will not print but still says "Receiving Port". If I press cancel, it
then reads "MHO1 Error (RTL)".

If your printer is setup like a desktop printer in Windows you may have to delete the print job from the printer list in Windows.

Open the Windows Control Panel and open Printers and Faxes and make sure there are no jobs listed under your printer.

Try turning everything off.... wait a few seconds and then turn it all back on. That usually works for us in the same type scenario.... except a different printer.

Thanks Gino, but I tried it. I've had this same sort of problem before and that
has always worked. But I unplugged everything including LPT cable and
comupter over night. I would assume the print job was still in the printers
buffer, but if the printer is turned on alone, it is fine. As soon as the computer
boots up it starts trying to print again. Even though Production Manager
is not even opened yet.

OP and jamie,
There is not icon for this printer in Control Panel like a desk top. There
never has been. Flexi's Production Manager sends and holds jobs there. And
I have deleted all jobs from that setup.

I would just let the print job finish, but its a 4x16 sheet of vinyl for a wrap
and I dont want to waste that ink and vinyl. And I would not be able to
use it because the layout is not complete yet.

It wouldn't happen to be something like this setting to hold in list or save to file that got accidentally changed or overlooked

as mentioned above,, you have to go to the windows printer and faxes in the control panel.
Find the default printer and open it. there you will find a print job. select it and deleat it.
Remember look in the printer with the check on it. That is where the print que is storing your print job.

IT is not storing that job anywher else. ITs in yoru spooler and that will be shown wihin your default printer.
The default printer is th eone that runs when your print to a desktop printer.
Forget about where flexi stores it.

Steve I would go into Printers and Faxes and double click on all printers listed and make sure that there wasn't anything in any of them! It sounds like a print spool file hanging!

ok somehow you have lost the icon in the control panel.
then go to SYSTEM, HARDWARE, PRINTERS....then you can get to printer set up there. or go to the computer where the printer you are havein the problem with ...its driver resides.\
the go START/SETTING/PRINTER FAX/and find that printer and delete/cancel printing.
