I make custom clear vinyl: shower curtains, art aprons, bibs & placemats. I use Oracal vinyl but I'm not making signs like you guys are. Could I make a simple real estate sign topper. Probably. Could I make a yard sale sign. Probably. But certainly do NOT claim to be a signmaker. I'm a vinyl...
I make kids products that are made to go along with popular character themes but I do not use the official fonts or anything even remotely copyrighted. I go thru my fonts and see what I have (that I obtained legally) and see if I can get sort of close to the real deal or that evokes the same...
and you know they didn't obtain it legally? Can you still do the job for them because you aren't the one providing the font?
I'm getting ready to do my first Craft Show in 2 weeks and I want to have my answer prepared in advance for when somebody asks me this question.
Can you believe that I have never bought a software program before? What a dork, I know. I have just used what comes on my computer.
I'm looking to buy Corel 12. I know X3 is out but I figure I could find 12 pretty cheap somewhere right now.
I won't even be using a smidge of the...
What about www.cleancutblade.com? On another sign forums message board the posters all rave about those blades. Ever hear of them?
Roland wants $45 for 1 blade and this guy wants $16. I know you usually get what you pay for in life but c'mon, $45 is crazy.
I will look into your suggestion -...

Cutting straight text created in the Roland software. Very simple, seemingly straight forward. 3" high letters by 17" long going longwise so I can fit 2 up (across) on my 12" wide machine. Same layout I did before.
If I adjust the blade a small notch higher then I barely even get the material...
Well, it's been 8+ hours and I am still trying to cut this $%#@^&*+ job out. I had already replaced the strip first thing even though it didn't look in bad shape.
I have overcome the issue with the vinyl getting hung up on the cable.
I still cannot cut evenly. Cuts through the backing in...
I'm going to lose my mind or throw this machine out the window. Ok, taking a deep breath......
Some sections are cutting all the way through the backing and some sections are not even barely scoring a line on the vinyl (using Oracal 651). Adjusting the blade depth seems like a wrong choice as...
