Just relating what I was told at that time. Yes, I'm pretty sure the person I spoke with recently was Doug (I was ordering the FX caps to make Edge 2 foils work on my FX), and he did seem like a straight-up guy. But I will still be cautious and get samples before I order anything of value.

Thanks Geoff, but samples are on the way already. I do need to verify first because I have been burned by GMS before. A few years ago, having issues printing more than one color on Lexedge, GMS ("Craig" IIRC) convinced me that their Armalex would solve the problem... which it didn't. Still...

There are some settings on the board (ie: trim pots on the PC board) at the back of the machine which control heat and pressure, but I'd be cautious about messing with those. Gerber support had me tweak one of those with a voltmeter and warned me about overdoing it as it could cause damage...

Yes, RFID in the thin "bar" on the pickup-spool end, but that's just to recognize the color. A gerber tech rep told me about this so swapping it allowed me to run Fireball red even though my Omega 2.6 doesn't know of that color. I was expecting the printer to recognize that dot-matrix-printed...
