  2. Joe Diaz offering a Seminar, end of April

Joe has taught multiple seminars and webinars over the past few years and we have always thought it would be great to have one in our hometown. So, Joe Diaz & Diaz Sign Art are happy to announce our CorelDRAW workshop. It’s a one day class where Joe plans on teaching those who attend how he uses...
  3. hello from frankfurt, germany

Wish we would have known you were here!! Did you like all the murals and the Walldog museum? Well if you get back, make sure you give us a call!! We are in the phone book under Diaz Sign Art. We'd love to give you a personal tour of our shop, etc. You would probably hit it off well with Joe...
  4. hello from frankfurt, germany

Welcome from Illinois. My maiden name was Kalkwarf. My family (one generation back) is from the Ostfreisland area of Germany, up on the coast. I don't speak much German, but WELCOME from Illinois! If you come to America, you are more than welcome to visit our shop (www.diazsignart.com) and...
  5. 3M or Avery

Absolutely NO Avery in our shop...EVER! We learned our lesson! We got burned bad! We love Oracal and use some 3M also.
  6. Can you do something? How much? How soon?

Just so you know...I told her she needed to come in and talk. We showed her some examples, talked about size, etc. and the job is on a work order and in the "jobs to do" slot on the wall.
  7. Can you do something? How much? How soon?

How would you answer a customer who sent you this? I'm just curious what others would say. :banghead: I have already responded to her. "I want a wall mount "medal holder" for my husband's marathon medals. I'd like it to say "I run because I really like beer". Can you do something like...
  8. Customers are so ignorant...

The vast majority of our customers are considerate and appreciate what we do. They come back and we treat them with the respect they deserve. But then there are those who come in occasionally that "just don't get it!"! I don't feel the least bit bad about sending them on down the road so...
  9. Customers are so ignorant...

I wouldn't waste anymore time...send him down the road and let him figure it out on someone else's time. Just say, "You know what? We aren't interested in doing this job." and move on.:banghead:

  11. Church Pricing?

We usually give churches or non-profits 10% off. We just say, "that is our company's policy". But that being said, we do do things for OUR church for less, sometimes even free. I will say if they ASK for a discount, I usually stick with the 10%, if they are too pushy, no discount. If it is a...
  12. Working something out?

That may be true Watson Sign but I nicely told them that we don't do that. Now if they really ARE interested, they will call us or stop by, not e-mail us through the website. I want to do business with them but not if they don't respect what we do or want us to jump through hoops just to get...
  13. Working something out?

You know really it's all about respect. If they don't respect you enough to see that you don't have time to take at least an hour out of your day to run to them and "look at their idea", I can see this is going nowhere fast. I wouldn't think of asking him to come to me to look at his flower...
  14. Working something out?

Jean, we totally agree. Give 'em an inch and they take a mile. :Big Laugh We have been at it 30+ years and learned most of our lessons the hard way. Besides that, I sort of have radar now for jobs that are going somewhere and those that are fishing expeditions. I was real nice about it...
