You could try using the "roughen brush tool", located with the shape tool.

I always include a method of attachment illustration with specifications as well.

I would try creating the distortion, converting the text to curves, uncompound the letters so they are individual shapes, apply the gradient fill , and adjust the angle for each individual letter.

Hello from down the street (almost). Have you tried McLogan? They are very close by, reasonably priced and have always been able to get what I needed.

Here's one I did a few years ago (not my design). I thought the colors, typestyle and layout represented the establishment well.
