Thanks for the leads guys. I called ERD and may work with them. Would certainly prefer to purchase a used AMC if any of you have one lying around, but will repair if necessary.
I have a late 1990s 4x8 Vytec Rebel router with a Perske 5hp spindle. It is controled by an AMC-3 NEE. Suddenly we are getting a serial port error. We've done our best to make sure it is not software and believe it is the actual port on the AMC.
It appears AMC is out of business and Vytec...
Need to place braille on a couple of small indoor signs. Is there an inexpensive solution to this? Do the hand held braille labelers work for this? We were planning on vinyl on alumalite. Does not need to be ADA compliant. Thanks for any help.
Thanks for the help. I have an old anagraph elite ae-60. Checked the blade holder and cleaned and lubricated it. This improved the diagonal lines but circles are not good. Have noticed flat spots on the pinch rollers. Could this be the culprit? i believe it is. I'll replace the blade holder if I...
Hi. any idea what causes a vinyl cutter to cut wavy diagonal lines but ok on the xy axis? Also bad circles. thanks. we've replaced the teflon strip and the blade.
I have'nt been online for a while. Thanks for the input. I'll have to check the Y-axis limit switch? If i can find it. Also, if I physically help it across the y axis I can avoid the error. This makes me think it must be something hanging up or causing some type of friction somewhere.
Again...
I keep getting a y-axis error when my router feeds too fast along the y axis. I can slow down the feed rate, but when the spindle picks up and moves to the next spot to route it defaults to 100 % feed and I get the error again. Every time this happens I must re-datum and start over.
Any...
Thanks for the replys. I produce nice carved signs and unfortunately, most of the common sign brackets fall into the catagory of the standard look bracket, or are cheaply made. I have a local supplier for the steel. With carved signs, it is nice to "wrap" the steel around the sign for...
I would like to inquire how to bend 1" to 2" steel to create nice sign brackets that would hang over a sidewalk, etc. Want to form French curves. Does anyone know what type of machine is required and a source for that machine? Is it necessary to heat the steel? Thanks very much for your replys.
Hi.
Just cut some shapes out of 1/4 in. Alumalite and as usual I find that the corrugated plastic doesn't leave a very smooth finish. Any suggestions on spindle rate and type of bit to get the best cut. I used a straight 1/4" bit at 18000rpm spindle rate..
Thanks.
