we lay a piece of mdf on our cnc, roll out the mag, tape the edges in a few places, then turn off the router motor and use a pen knife in it. We can set up sections to do multiple up in a screen press set up or just cut out whatever shape we need to print them one up.

We have an epilog laser that runs off signlab, it is set up simply as a network printer. Once the driver is installed you set all the laser functions as if you were printing on paper, it isn't SUPER complicated but knowing the proper settings for what you are engraving vs what you are cutting...

I thought sign foam had a very high burn temp... I actually think we tried to torch a piece several years back and were unable to set in on fire. I bet a hotwire would not cut it. As for other foam... i would not burn it and expect not to get sick or worse.

Check with oracal, we have been doing some color change stuff for a client (but it is gloss) I bet they have a matte overlam.

You didn't mention what "product or products" you will use to wrap the truck, I'd look at making sure your client knows what product you will use and make sure they understand that if your price come in a bit high that there are always "cheaper" materials out there (at the cost of quality)
