  1. Dampers filled with a little air MIMAKI JV300

Not sure on the damper issue but I can comment on the other issues you mentioned. Dye sub can we temperamental if you don't keep your humidity controlled. Are you humidfying and dehumidifying as needed? 30-50 % humidity is about the sweet spot. I set my Dehumidifer to 50 and our humidifier to...
  2. Flatbed Printer Advice

So is the consensus that varnish in heads clogs heads much more than regular inks?
  3. Flatbed Printer Advice

Good idea! Curious if you are screwing it down the areas where the screw heads are wouldn't get painted as the printer would print on the screw head instead of the board. How do you touch that up or avoid that?
  4. Tilt Brush by Google

Pretty amazing! First thing I've seen that makes me want a VR headset.
  5. What to Buy? What to Buy? Need advice and wisdom!

Not sure where in Texas you are but Mimaki has a factory showroom and demo room in Dallas. Set an appointment and take your samples there and they will run whatever you want to try.
  6. Material for making jigs?

Hello friends, I've recently purchased a flatbed printer 8'x4'. I need something to catch the overspray that I can reuse as my material is 11.7mm tall. I'm told if I don't make a jig for the outside of the signs to catch overspray I will have an ink vortex that will get on the heads on the...
  7. Best Way to get new customers?

This alone is cause for concern. Start back at square one and re-figure all your expenses. I imagine it will be closer to 5% net, maybe 10% if you take on some things yourself like the design work you mentioned. Can you make that work? Everything costs more than it looks on the surface...
  8. Beer pull handle prototype.

Very nice work! :thumb: How do you keep the resin from cracking when it's pulled over and over?
  9. new sign company hello

  10. Mimaki ink recommendations?

I'm told by the sales rep 100 series ink the hard ink doesn't bond as well as the 150 series semi flexible. Is this true in your experience, if so why go with hard ink over the semi flexible? Thanks for your feedback!
  11. How would you guys make this sign and how much would you charge for it?

sounds about right color changing lips would be the hardest part
  12. Who owns their own commercial building?

Rent a moving van or company for the day. Or rent a semi, I've moved a 6500 sq ft shop in one day racking, machines and all. Plan on doing it on a Friday and let your employees know you will be working Saturday and possibly Sunday. Plan all your electrical and ventilation in advance. No reason...
  13. Flatbed Printer Advice

I haven't decided at least one ink will be white though what do you recommend?
  14. Flatbed Printer Advice

Thank you all so much for your help! You points about technology changing significantly and an old one being maintaince heavy were well received. I looked at cet, vanguard, oce Canon, mutoh, multiple other Chinese, EFI, HP, and every other at the International Sign show and placed my order...
