Title is my issue... I replaced the Magenta-Yellow print heads in my HP DesignJet z6810 on Tuesday, and it seems like since then, when I print anything from our normal Onyx RIP, no settings having been changed, the front 1" or so will be a lighter color than the rest of the print. In darker...

We also have a Latex 370 and profile it on the front panel (though it communicates with Onyx), and we've found that for solid colors it's extremely consistent. No reprofiling needed if we just consistently run a color calibration 2-3 times a week.

I think we tried this option already and got a strange error in the profiling window of Onyx saying that when I try to go down that route, that mode is only for separations, or can only be used with separations, something to that notion. Separations to me usually imply a 3 or 4-color PHYSICAL press.

Really struggling here... let me see if I can explain this. I work in a shop with one HP DesignJet z6100 and now we have purchased an HP DesignJet z6810 as well. We aren't TOO concerned with profiling the one to match the other (as one printer would need to be 'dumbed down' to match the other's...

Unfortunately solvent printing doesn't play nice with our particular signage process. We have a Mimaki for a different product and I can say in only the most polite way that that machine is a huge pain in the tush... we would prefer to not go down the solvent route.

Good suggestion, though we regularly change out our printheads once they have fired enough to illicit the OUT OF WARRANTY designation in the ink panel on-screen. I will keep an eye on them though.
