  1. This worries me more than Russia...

Boudica, you've been paying attention. It's gonna come down to use versus them, and I don't mean Red & Blue. I'm not an expert, but I am an 'enthusiast' of world history, especially from the 1880's thru the 1950's, and I am scared. Einstein said, "I don't know how the third world war will be...
  2. This worries me more than Russia...

Tex, I'm not a 'Conspiracy Theorist' be any means. I'm just wondering.
  3. This worries me more than Russia...

These kind of things are above our pay grade, since we're lowly sign-makers, but is it possible that China, who are clearly backing the Russians, are using a new outbreak of Covid to shutdown production in their biggest manufacturing region? The numbers are up, but not that bad, considering the...

  8. Routing grooves in 4x4 wood post

I used to do quite a few two sided signs by inserting the panels in grooves. Started using a skill saw and then switched to a router. Have also used a Dado blade. The POOL sign only has four fasteners; 10" lags.

Thanks James Burke, my wife agrees and she's third in command at the office. They won't notice, It's just, you know, I'm a signman and a proud one. It hate to take a lickin' on something that should be simple. But, I gotta spend a little time brushing up on T-Ball drills before spring gets here.
  12. Font Help

I have found a .bak file from 2012, that is the backup for the .scv (ScanVec-CasMate) file, but no .scv file. My Flexi-12 says the format is not recognized. I haven't have any problem with very old .scv on the Flexi. Anyone with older Flexi or CasMate who can still open .bak files?

Thanks James Burke. Any other customer and I'd have walked two days ago, but it's for my wife's medical office and designed it. Pa did take time to go see the five year old's basketball game this morning.

  17. Discussion Is there any young future Sign employees???

I answered an ad for a "woodworker" in 1990. He wanted a cabinet maker and I had limited experience in home building. He hired me anyway, based on my inquisitive nature.. Damn sign bug bit me on the butt. Me Papa was a blacksmith: obsolete. My Dad was a machinist (same thing different...
  18. Suggestions When did this happen............................................. ??

Gino, all of the above. We've been living in the land of milk and honey for 30 years or so and wages are finally rising for the working class. It's simple economics really; when demand is greater than supply, cost of goods will increase. Covid and it's manufacturing and logistics impact have...
