When we had our summa f1612 installed we had the same issue, turns out that installing the cutter drivers in onyx cut server somehow corrupted cut server (the same issue started happening with our graphtec f8600 at the same time) We Uninstalled onyx, reinstalled and it fixed the issue

I agree, fabric might be the best bet, you can fold them up for shipping and the creases will come right out, they look nicer as well.
