  1. Installing a 4x6ft wood sign

Ah....yeah, if you have employees, that could factor in to just staying with corded.
  2. Installing a 4x6ft wood sign

These things run forever on batteries. I've drilled a few hundred holes with just a couple of batteries. Cords are dead. Just invest in a few good batteries. I bought the small 20v one for more delicate materials like quartzite. There's also a 12v version which is slightly weaker that I'll...
  3. Installing a 4x6ft wood sign

Oh gees. I wouldn't dream of using that smaller one for any dirt work. The top two are meant for it though. I'd give you a good deal on one of the top two if interested. I would just need to figure out which one I want to part with.
  4. Installing a 4x6ft wood sign

Second one from the bottom is great for holes in concrete. How exactly are you using it to dig holes in dirt? With chisel bits or something? The top two are more meant for dirt work, light demo work, etc.
  5. Installing a 4x6ft wood sign

I use a cordless 1-9/16" rotary hammer with a Hilti clay spade bit (part number is pictured if interested). Works pretty well on the rocky stuff. Also have the 1-7/8" rotary hammer that I may switch to. Bought it for a project and wound up not needing it and haven't decided whether to keep it...
  6. Any vinyl wall covering installers in Iowa?

I have a potential install there and could use an extra hand if it pans out. PM me if interested.
  7. Neutral cure silicone sealant

GE l silicone is acid cure and requires something like 12 hours before exposure to water. GE ll silicone is neutral cure and can be exposed to water in half an hour....likely the reason you're client is asking for it.
  8. Need Help Installing indoor signs from suspended ceilings?

The ceiling tiles will hold with the toggle bolts. The problem with suspended signs is kids like to jump and hit them lol. That's just a fact. The 1x4 just ensures the sign will stay in place. It's overkill but it's cheap insurance.
  9. Need Help Installing indoor signs from suspended ceilings?

They make clips that attach to the drop ceiling grid. You could use those and jack chain or aircraft cable with S-hooks. If you have to go through the ceiling tile itself, just lay a 1x4 or similar above the tiles so it spans the metal grids, drill holes through the tile and 1x4 and use...
  10. One man shop growing pains

Monthly fees for multi-tenant panels are common but his price is what an anchor tenant would pay in a large shopping center in a large metropolitan area.
  11. TDLR licenses

    I would email all 3 of these: rudy.cherenfant@tdlr.texas.gov jerry.daniel@tdlr.texas.gov larry.reichle@tdlr.texas.gov
  12. TDLR licenses

TDLR can't even agree on their own rules. I wouldn't rely on answers from the forum, I would get an answer in writing from TDLR.
  13. Opinion Need A New Heat Gun

I'll let it go this time. The cordless heat gun has its place but it's pretty limited in what it can do.
  14. Random Photo of the Day

That's what happens when people think silicone adheres well to acrylic/polycarbonate.
  15. Thoughts on exterior sign specs?

No, no concerns. The 4941 is formulated to resist plasticizer migration.
  16. Thoughts on exterior sign specs?

You can absolutely use VHB (4941) for the letters and logo. Full coverage would be ideal.
  17. Removing tape-mounted panels, etc.

The deluxe version does but I didn't spring for them.
  18. Removing tape-mounted panels, etc.

    It IS cordless though....
  19. Removing tape-mounted panels, etc.

Click on the (here) in my original post.
  20. Removing tape-mounted panels, etc.

Figured I'd post this up in case it might help others. I was asked to remove this panel and a few letters so some repairs could be made behind the glass panels. I was told if anything breaks, they could remake it, but obviously the preference was to get everything off in one piece. That did...
