  1. EFI Vutek printer giving intermittent DOOR OPEN errors

JUST A FOLLOW UP: Turns out that DOOR OPEN is the generic message that pops up when there is a problem the printer can't identify. It turned out to be a voltage issue.
  2. Wholesale DTG printer?

Can anyone recommend a wholesale DTG printer? Looking for someone to send short runs to so we don't have to screenprint them. Preferably close to Alabama.
  3. Has WS Display moved completely to Mexico?

I had an order placed with them for two windfeathers...a small part of a much bigger order we were doing in-house. After a couple of emails to customer service they told me they would be shipping UPS on Sept 8th. UPS shows them a three day ship from our location which was cutting it close but...
  4. EFI Vutek printer giving intermittent DOOR OPEN errors

We have bypassed all the sensors, they aren't the problem. Problem is that the power board is okay sending out two volts to the sensors instead of 12. When the power makes the loop and comes back the low voltage reads as a sensor being open. I was hoping someone knew why the voltage was wrong.
  5. EFI Vutek printer giving intermittent DOOR OPEN errors

We are getting periodic DOOR OPEN errors from our Vutek printer. Doors are all closed, electrician has verified that the correct voltage is reaching the power board from the door sensors. Power board in the printer was replaced with a new one last week. Printed a weeks worth of orders this...
  6. Vutek GS3250 LX UD....can somebody explain to me how to print double sided coro and get it aligned?

That's what I figured out and came back in here to post it. We can print within a 1/16" match on both sides at full production speed now. Takes an extra 15 seconds to set up the file but we'll just have to deal with that.
  7. Vutek GS3250 LX UD....can somebody explain to me how to print double sided coro and get it aligned?

That's what we do on our Oce' flatbed. We figured out how to get it done on the Vutek....I may never use the Oce' again.
  8. Vutek GS3250 LX UD....can somebody explain to me how to print double sided coro and get it aligned?

That's what I'm doing for now but cutting down 70-100 sheets a day doesn't make me happy. And when did I become a NEW MEMBER? I think I joined 18 years ago.
  9. Vutek GS3250 LX UD....can somebody explain to me how to print double sided coro and get it aligned?

Sorry but 1/4" off is horribly off on an 18x24 yard sign for us.
  10. Vutek GS3250 LX UD....can somebody explain to me how to print double sided coro and get it aligned?

We have a Vutek GS3250 LX UD. We can print one side of coro beautifully....if I want to print double sided yard signs (10 per sheet) how do get side two to be aligned with side one without having to spend half my day making coro square by hand first. It seems like it should be a simple matter...
  11. Supplier for bulk quantities of 3' x 8' decals?

Because screenprinting decal will take much longer than screenprinting coro signs. If we can sub them out to someone we can keep our large presses running coro and make a markup on the decals. We can run them on our digital printers but honestly I don't want to deal with printing 20 rolls of...
  12. Supplier for bulk quantities of 3' x 8' decals?

Have a customer who wants 500 3'x8' decals, two colors on white. We can print them on our latex printers or screen print them but we'd rather sub them out. Anyone know a good wholesaler for something like that?
  13. Discussion Just frickin' typical.....................................

You've been at this long enough to know that if the township is on him BEFORE he even gets started you should just walk away. Locally I've had ti take three years AFTER I installed jobs for the city to realize they were wrong and at that point they just ignored it. If he's already on their...
  14. Discussion What's the most common design mistake you see made in sign design?

The most common design mistake made by people on this site is taking the advice of 90% of the people in this thread. Have you ever noticed that 90% of "graphic designers" absolutely SUCK at graphic design? Have you ever noticed that 95% of "old school hand painted set lead type" graphic...
  15. Oce Arizona 350 GT service key....somebody has one....

Somebody has one, I need one. Can we talk?
  16. Is there a proofing and payment plugin for EstiMate?

I am looking for a plugin, if one exists, so that when I send a quote from EstiMate the customer can approve it online and pay their deposit online. I know I can generate paylinks in other software and put them into the EstiMate email, I was just hoping there was a plugin out there to...
  17. Need Help Anyone have an Onyx 12 install disk?

We had a hard drive crash and while our design files were backed up the software on the system was not. Our Onyx 12 CD won't read. Onyx no longer offers the online download for version 12 so we are stuck. We have a license, we have our USB key, we just need a copy of the install CD to get...
  18. Shop owner passed away...what happens to copyright?

So far my files from selling out my shop have been worth $24,200. Yes, that EXACT figure. I thought the files were worth five times that. And in almost every case the customer followed me to my next adventure (although for some reason my last move to a strictly GRAPHIC DESIGN position most...
  19. Any tips or tricks to get an Oce' Arizona to print a nice rich orange color?

I have tried everything I can think of and I can't get a rich orange color. I can print anything else beautifully but the brightest orange I can get is still a faded, dull color. I'm designing in Illustrator and printing through Onyx.
  20. Oce' Arizone Z axis error

Wanted to update this in case anyone else ever asked. Deymos nailed it....firewire cable.
