  1. VHB for exterior sign - Polycarb to Acrylic?

My .02 is that you'd be better served using a thicker piece of acrylic and milling the material to make your push thru. That way, there's no gluing, taping, etc. Adhering two different types of plastic together is inviting material failure. Again, my .02.
  2. Software Help Publishing to PDF from Corel 2019

All I can think is you need to change the scale based on what sheet you're printing- meaning you'll also have to change the drawing to match the scale.
  3. Haptic Printing.....

That's pretty much what all the machines that advertise printed Braille do to achieve that effect- layering the white. The texture is neat (when it works), but it takes some serious trial and error to get it looking the way you want it. Once you do, of course, it (should) be easily repeatable...
  4. Paint Company Color Libraries for Corel

Ooh, that sucks. Once upon a time (more than a decade ago), I created my own palettes for (most) of the manufacturers to allow me to use them in Corel. It was time consuming, to say the least. If you have Photoshop, have you tried exporting the palette as an XML and seeing if it keeps the...
  5. Paint Company Color Libraries for Corel

You supposedly can use Photoshop palettes in Corel (it claims to be compatible with the ACO palette Photoshop uses).
  6. Cnc machine question

I will second the MultiCam "great machine, poor service" thing. On the plus side, their machines last. When they start having problems, though (normally after about 10 years, but still), you can be left hanging while you wait for a return call or a service visit. Or parts. Not sure how much...
  7. Flatbed CNC laser recommendations

Last ISA show I went to (2022, I think), the Trotec guy told me they didn't offer any metal cutting lasers.
  8. has anyone have a 6 feet laminator?

Well, I've seen them as big as 10', but they were liquid laminators at that size.
  9. Brushed Aluminum Vinyl

Agree with the Rowmark (or, laminate a brushed aluminum sheet). And, don't cut PVC with a laser.
  10. Day/Night Vinyl

We print on perforated vinyl and use on channel letters all the time to get white lit letters. Works fine as long as you use quality materials. Dual Color films are also great for this application- though expensive. I never cared much for the "look" of actual Day/Nite vinyl (doesn't get white...
  11. What the *&%^ did I miss?

I used to have zero issue getting 60"x120" sheets of polycarbonate. Now, it seems like none of the suppliers even make rolls that size any more. Did this happen during the plague, and I just missed it?
  12. Vinyl For Car Interior Panel Application.

Another thing I'd take into consideration is how much plastic is on the inside of modern cars- and the fact that vinyl will not stick to a lot of it.
  13. Discussion Factors Affecting Print Quality in UV Printers.

A possible culprit that I've encountered is that the media is somehow contaminated. Would run into that occasionally with wallcover and less often with vinyl (though once had a batch of 150 or so rolls plus of 3M that had manufacturing issue that they took forever to admit to- even though we...
  14. Mirror Glass cutting vector shapes

If you had the proper (i.e., glass cutting) attachment- assuming your table can use other tools besides the spindle for cutting- it's easily doable.
  15. Need Help Large Multi Color decal for customer, help?

Printing really is the best thing you can offer the DIY'er (and even then, you're liable to get an "I need another one" request blaming you because they couldn't follow directions). If you don't have print capability in house, Ms. Olson's suggestion is the next best solution.
  16. Seeking Advice: Issues with Stainless Steel Lettering Installation

You don't say how large the letters are, but stainless is going to be heavy. As good as VHB is, there's no way I'd use anything other than mechanical fasteners to attach not only the letters, but the panel itself. I'd stud mount these (pre-drill the PVC backer with the corresponding mounting...
  17. High Tack Vinyl issue

You got that right! Did they ever solve the issue with the adhesive "gumming up" on the edges of the rolls? That was always my biggest issue with that media.
  18. Double sided window graphic?

Opaque white isn't really opaque when there's a light source (the sun) behind it. Unless the graphic is really dark/saturated, light will come through. Like others have said- reverse print on clear, standard print on white (I'd use translucent, but- either way- make sure the adhesive is clear)...
  19. Need Help Coroplast issues - seeking tips and tricks

Ummm... I'm not 100% certain of this, but isn't Coroplast and its knockoffs one of the plastics you shouldn't be cutting with a laser due to the gasses it creates?
  20. Mutoh 1624 The lengths of the prints do not match

A quarter of an inch??? Wow... that's awful. No wonder I cussed that printer nearly every day!
