The calculators seem like a good idea for laminate etc but getting the printers to count down from a full roll is the easiest/simplest method.
We'll just write remaining length on the corner before pulling the media off the printers.
Only issue there is that I usually round down and...
Sorry to hear about your troubles with Signvox. We tried it out when they first came out and I'm glad we didn't jump on the bandwagon after the trial, have seen nothing but dissatisfaction related to them over the last couple of years.
That said, this topic comes up every so often and it's...
Agreed. You'll get more help here than from a "one and done" dealer any day as long as you can properly explain what's happening.
We have a S60600 and (older) Summa S140T and cuts are bang on, as long as job length isn't too crazy.
Post more information about what you're trying to do, how...
Not familiar with that film but they likely have a suitable/recommended laminate to pair with.
Thin and cast will keep the conformability and will help the job last longer.
I'm not familiar with Flexi, but if you're able to create layouts and proofs, I don't understand how you couldn't just build to scale or scale it up in the same program?
There are lots of options when it comes to common design software..........Corel, Adobe, etc.
I find Corel to be...
Cool story bro. You might want to read the rules: https://www.signs101.com/account/upgrades
You'll need a merchant membership if you want to push your services.
Not sure if you came across this thread: https://www.signs101.com/threads/bringing-banner-finishing-in-house.176376/
I've tried asking more of less the same question and didn't get much info. I've scoured the forums and read every thread that has anything to do with banner sewing and still...
The only time we get hang out and wait is the odd contractor that waits for his truck. Even that I don't like, you get to spend a couple of hours listening to them yell on the phone and pace around.
Our "showroom/waiting area" is so bare and boring that hopefully it discourages the hang out...
Agreed. The worst virus of them all. What other software has the ability to hijack your workstations and force updates and restarts, then eventually force you into upgrading altogether?
If had more patience/intelligence I'd probably experiment with Linux stuffs but I ain't that smart. Nor...
Same here. I used to really let it bug me as if them showing up early/unannounced was somehow my problem/fault but now I don't care as much.
I'll just bluntly tell them no it's not ready yet, it will be ready when I told you it would be and we'll let you know when it is done. We make a...
Is S365 reasonable for us Winnipeggers? I always assumed with shipping it wouldn't be worth considering.
I'd offer to print this for you but I'm not gonna try to compete with someone like S365.
If you need any other stuff done let me know, happy to help. We print for lots of other companies...
I'd tell the customer to mind his business!
All jokes aside, we'll sometimes spec out gloss/matte/anti-graffiti etc. laminate on quotes and orders, but then again we don't use any liquid laminate or clear coat.
That being said, as long as the end result is professional I wouldn't worry about...
I mean 8519 is lustre so I'd rule that out anyways. We stopped using it years ago because it had so much mottling.
Arlon 3220 gloss has a nice finish to it, same with Avery DOL 1060Z.

Doesn't include IJ175 in the mix but I know the main selling features on that one are lower initial tack, easier to slide, lower price point. Downside is slightly less durability and less removability down the road.
I was hoping we could use IJ175 on an upcoming remote project to rebrand a bunch of coaches and vehicles due to lower initial tack and slideability - Did some testing in-house and found it behaved worse than IJ180cv3 in terms of scarring and handling. Also awful for smaller shape cut decals due...
^Very much this, given everything that's been revealed.
Shops that print banners have big enough work benches and/or finishing equipment do to just that.
What kind of shop are you working in that has a six figure flatbed but no work benches or finishing equipment? What do you do with prints...
You're not going to find 24" banner media. 36-39" is pretty much the smallest standard width.
Print as many up as you can fit on the stock that you have, roll them out on a work bench, and trim them down with a straightedge and knife.
Assuming you have work benches.... why would these prints...
