Just to let you know - Principal LED makes a 3 channel dimmer for their leds - Not sure if it dims all the way to zero but you would be able to dial in a much lower intensity - have the building dept. come out with their light meter to prove you wrong (or make adjustments).

Some points that come to mind -
The associated expenses that come with printing ie. - maintenance, medias with use by dates and other consumables. The cost to maintain software, employees...
A commercial business can spread those cost over all of his jobs, in other words, keeping the ship...
also, check your encoder strip and clean with alcohol swab if necessary. Also check the media feed encoder. Had an ink xplosion once and the feed encoder got ink on the encoder disk caused a feed problem.

We use it and it works great - they have the clamps and binders too
Al else considered and there were many good suggestions - try to design in terms of scale - the taller the letter/graphic, the bigger the overall size - maybe increase the material depth to keep thing in scale.
I also may mention that due to their logo changing every once in a while - instead of painting the logo on an otherwise 2nd surface, I opted to apply the logo in the closest translucent color vinyl and apply it to the first surface - they were happy and if the logo should change in the future it...
From my experience in Ohio -
Called the State Board of Liquor Control - got to the right person and they sent the spec sheet of how their logo was to be used - size, separation, color etc...
See if can contact the TABC by phone and get the rules.
