This is right at the edge of the shopping district so yes, Chase could use their branding for signage but was limited on square footage - and you guessed correct - no lit signage. We also still have the barricades leftover from lockdown when restaurants had all the outdoor dining. They actually...
So interesting - it makes me wonder which came first? If a big name company wanted to open shop in a historic district, I'm guessing they'd do their due diligence and research the ordinances beforehand. But what if a given town/area became a historic district - could they then retroactively...
Did exactly this and it sounds like they’re amending the new color choices. Thank goodness. I think this was just more focused on digital that they forgot about the real world, practical (signage) applications?
All the rules and regs here are mainly for preservation reasons. Most of the...
Not exactly - the city dictates what colors are allowed in the various districts. Marketing just neglected to consult the city codes before choosing the new colors.
A business could choose any colors they want for their brand - they just may not be allowed to use it for signage.
And Gettin'By is...
At least this came at the very end of the week...
Our organization (marketing department) just released the new brand style guide and none of the new colors for our "brand" are even approved for use by our city! Geez, it's like no one thought to see if we have any requirements from, ya' know...
Others may chime in with better tricks, but I've always just allowed myself a little extra bleed whenever I need to line up panels. So when you print your left panel just allow a little extra bleed from the right panel and vice versa.
Just gives you a little more wiggle room.
Just design your banner so that the changeable date field falls in a white (unprinted) area. Then just use 651 or Instachange as the others mentioned. If the vinyl doesn't come off cleanly - just wipe it off. Petepaz's method is quick and easy too - just create your banner so that you can...
You could use hanger screws. Just use your CNC to put pilot holes where you want them and then screw them in. Those plus adhesive/tape would hold your panels securely.
Unclebun - I bet you're right. Letters have been replaced, and now it's just a hodgepodge. I went down a font rabbit hole yesterday as well and I think Futura "feels" the closest.
Thanks everyone for the input!
Can anyone help ID this font? It's in the lobby of an old hotel from 1750. Found a few close, but no matches.
Customer is wanting to add more dimensional letters like these elsewhere in the lobby on a beige wall.
Gold on beige? I feel like that's going to be tough to see. Are there any contrast...
Yes, normally an overlaminate is meant to provide UV, moisture, abrasion resistance for printed inks. The Avery HP 750 series is a "performance calendared" film. It's an intermediate film that will work on windows but will not perform as well as a cast vinyl like the Avery 950 series. I would...
Stinks that it sometimes takes an injury to find the silver lining, but congrats on the new transition plan. I've been working in internal shops the past decade so I can only imagine how bad walk in customers are these days. Will you start a thread whenever you start building out your garage...
You can look into your local B2B and civic organizations. My wife is in procurement and gets tons of leads through them: BNI, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Business After Hours, etc.
Definitely avoid vinyl film unless it has some type of cover. Second surface would work. At my last shop, we made queue line signs each season for a waterpark and the most cost-effective/ durable combo that worked for us were direct prints with liquid laminate. Not the most robust, but they...
Yeah, good show - Walton Goggins is great (as always). I wasn't aware of the video game, so I didn't know about the ending (woah). You should try to stick with it to the end.
