  1. OLDER HP26500 VS ROLAND XC-540

At the prices you are paying, I wouldn't be rushing into buying a printer, save yourself the headache of printer maintenance (especially with an older machine) and keep outsourcing. Unless deadlines or quality are a concern.
  2. OLDER HP26500 VS ROLAND XC-540

Have you looked into somewhere like signs365? they run huge volumes and cane print, laminate & cut for pretty much your cost in materials, and they have very fast turnarounds
  3. Epson print and perf cut with 8600 and Onyx - Alignment Issues

have you set up condition 8 to use the tool position 3?
  4. VG-540i does not print cut properly

We ended up with a Epson S80600 and a graphtec plotter, couldn't be happier.
  5. VG-540i does not print cut properly

We bought one of the first vg640 machines when they were released, it was amazingly good...for 6 months, then it started going through print heads on a weekly basis, after Roland replaced 8 heads I convinced them to swap out the machine for another of the same. The new machine printed ok but...
  6. Vinyl or banner material for billboard?

Do you do this with every client who orders a sign from you?
  7. Vinyl or banner material for billboard?

I can see where you are coming from, but it's unrealistic to expect a sign shop to quiz every client on their intended use of a sign they bought, there aren't enough hours in the day for me to "educate" every client on all the possible issues they might face. If they want to ensure all possible...
  8. What printer to get Epson or HP

That's your totally un-biased opinion I assume, and has nothing to do with you selling HP latex machines...
  9. Question Is my 360 a lemon, and should I buy another HP?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but every UV print I've gotten from a supplier had a very distinct smell to it that never really goes away, I can't see how you could use that for wall graphics. Do the newer UV printers not have the same issue? I ordered a 20'x10' banner from 4over that was UV printed...
  10. Vinyl or banner material for billboard?

I agree, lind sign spring is the perfect solution, very easy for the client to install themselves, and it keeps the banner perfectly tight. As far as regulations go, don't worry about it, that's the clients responsibility, you just sold him a banner, what he does with it is up to him.
  11. Calendered Vinyl- Racecars

Sorry autocorrect on my phone, I meant AutoMark from general formulations, but it's only about 30% less than proper cast film.
  12. What printer to get Epson or HP

I'm in Canada, so I don't think it would work, but I'm sure there are some local shops that would be interested
  13. Calendered Vinyl- Racecars

Have you looked into automatically, it's a 2.4 mil calendered vinyl meant for simple wraps. If you want to stick with Arlon, the 4600lx might do the trick when paired with a cast laminate. With racecars, price is the only concern, graphics usually don't last more than a few races anyway, so...
  14. Epson RIP software

Both onyx and Flexi have 30 day trials of their software, it should be good enough to test the machine and see if it's worth investing in.
  15. What printer to get Epson or HP

The latex machine is no longer supported by HP, which means finding inks and print heads is going to be very difficult in the near future. The generation of Epson machines you are looking at don't have the best reputation, the newer ones are awesome machines, but the older ones, not so much...
  16. Opinion Epson Surecolor 40600 vs Roland TrueVis SG

Glad you got if figured out, we have been running a Epson S80600 and Graphtec plotter for the last 2 years, it's been great! Anyone who has run a Roland print/cut machine as we did for 12 years prior knows that you can't get accurate cutting on anything over 6 feet. Our graphtec has cut...
  17. TR2 Ink Conversion for Roland Printers

The whole tru vis "experiment" is a joke, nothing but Roland releasing untested technology on their customers to do the R&D for them, on their own dime. We had nothing but issues with the 3 that we had, Roland had absolutely no solutions, just excuses. Luckily we had a great dealer who finally...
  18. LOOKING FOR ACRYLIC DOOR SIGN SUPPLIER

Any engraving shop should be able to make that up very easily. I would offer but we are in another country.
  19. Curious how others would've handled this order/customer

No way I would replace the shirts for free after 5 months, nor would I expect any supplier to either, why did it take him 5 months to bring these back? Who only washes a shirt 2 times in 5 months? I made some work shirts for our staff using the printable heat transfer material, 6 months later...
