5k is a little over the top even with new heads, dampers, captops, scan motor and carriage bearings.

The SP540 is one of the most forgiving printers you will ever get..

Done it before with 48" styrene letters 4" thick, cant see why it wouldn't hang on just as good.. I checked google and the signs I fitted 17 years ago are still in place.

There is also a sensor on the back of the cutter carriage..It reads the same as the print carriage and hense will give you the carriage disconnected fault. Is why that encoder strip must be right and clean.

Ensure your encoder strip is tight on the spring and not bottoming out.

Every nozzle is firing without any deflection..hard to put finger on problem

Just fit the new head, replace the damper while you are there, run a cleaning cycle or two, run the calibration tests to align the head and you are right to go.

The machine will boot up without those cables even being connected. Great to see you are back up and running though

Did you disturb the cable to the front panel? If the main fuse is ok and you have voltage on the main board, that cable is usually the only other thing that will prevent a power up. Disconnect all power, discharge the system using the main power button, wait a few minutes, refit the main cable...

No printer company has ever made inks. Inks are designed for printheads, be it dx2-dx7, zaar, hp, epson etc.

Group the complete word and try again.

Alcohol should be your final clean.. You need to use solvent ink cleaner first, to remove any residue.
