I find this more and more common. I've started numbering my questions/points in hopes that they'll actually read/acknowledge a majority of them. 70% of the time, it works every time.
Agreed, very easy/user friendly printers. Our "training" for our S60600 was about 20 minutes....... at first I was a bit disappointed then quickly realized how easy it was to operate and maintain.
We ran Rolands for 10+ years so had experience operating printers.
That said, seeing as...
We like 3M 8418G. Super thin and conformable and will generally cover thicker UV ink nicely with a touch of heat on the laminator.
We also use Avery DOL 2080 matte which is thicker/calendared, and will sometimes leave a bit of silvering around raised/printed areas but have never had a...
We've got a project coming up soon w/ a bunch of PVC panels throughout a higher end office.
This portion will be up on a bulkhead and will essentially have (4) panels @ approximately 34" x 34". (mockup attached)
I'll be using 12mm PVC for these.
For some of the smaller (not overhead) panels...
Spend 2-3k on an X-rite i1, get Onyx Thrive or similar, and go to town.
I'd ask the dealer that is installing the Epson if they sell profiling equipment and training. We went this route when we added a printer years ago and it was worth the investment.
Having someone hold your hand to build...
We used to use a ton of 2923 EZ, then realized it shrinks A LOT over time, especially if you add a calendared laminate. How long have you been using this combo? Haven't had any failures yet?
For vehicles we strictly use 3M IJ180cv3 + 3M 8418G.
We'd probably use the same for windows.
Agreed. Printing them all together would probably be the simplest. There appears to be some different colored details on the trident so printing would help w/ that too, otherwise you're trying to match 4 reflective colors.
That stripe looks drunk, sure is an odd shape.
(Not what you're...
We would print on GF 201 HTAP + 3M 8418G laminate and call it a day.
Like Tex said, I wouldn't trust any of the painted/colored ACM sheets. Years ago we did some signs for a nail salon (first and last time) and they wanted to use yellow ACM. Those signs are now pretty much white and the...
Sounds pretty common for larger bids. We had something similar for a large local event last year, I respectfully declined. Asking for compensation to fill out their paperwork won't land you the job.
Figure out if it's worth the effort. If you can make money on the job while being...
Same here. We work with a few other shops and I'm more than happy to do wholesale work for them if their printers are down or if it's something they can't do in-house.
I think it's safe to say that 60" wide is the largest common vinyl size.
Anything wider than that and you're looking at seams or going with some form of fabric/banner.
There are times where seams are inevitable and the customer just has to accept it.
