Ok, I think I figured it out (woke up in the middle of the night with this one). You originally had Omega 2.0 and a Edge I. The Edge I does NOT require an ECP port and did not require the WarpNine driver so I think this is why your earlier setup worked. When we started to support Windows NT we...
Well if it worked before then I have no idea why it does not now.
You never changed ANYTHING ? OS, etc ?
Is the parallel port part of the "mother board" or PCI interface card plugged in?
From the dialog I say that the port is NOT an ECP port. There use to be plugin boards you could buy but someone on here would have to speack for that. I have no idea about who's interfaces (plugin card) worked and which ones did not.
Why the ECP port - because we need the data rate to feed...
Sent again, renamed the zip to zxx, not sure who is stopping it.
On the Omega 2.5 CD it should be in the \MISC\PARCHECK folder.
I was in Old Town Alexandria.
I just sent it again. I forgot to turn the "out of office" off when I got back from vacation yesterday. Was in Virginia and passed throug Jersy on Monday, you should have flagged me down.
Did you run parcheck.exe yet?
Sent me an email and I'll send parcheck to you.
There are parallel ports out ther that say they are ECP or can be configured as ECP ports but are not truely ECP ports no matter what the BIOS says. This is why we came out with the USB to parallel solution.
On the Omega CD there use to be a program called ParCheck.exe. You might try that if you can find it. In GQMgr's about dialog it should also tell you the version of the WarpNine driver, what is it?
Can you still output to the Edge I ?
Do you have an LPT2 to try?
Hopefully plugging and...
You should be able to use the same parallel cable for both.
Make sure that when you are outputting from GspPlot that you have the Edge I selected as the output device and not the Edge II as the command structure is a little different.
You can get the owner's manual from here...
First I would unplug the security key any time you are installing the driver.
I'll assume that the driver that is installed is the latest from Rainbow (now SafeNet) and I do not think it will work with Omega 2.1. So with that I would uninstall the current and install the one off the Omega 2.1...
What USB to Serial adpater are you using. There are may out there that do not work because the "driver" does not support a Windows function we use in communicating to the device. Either call TechSupport and asked them or search the boards (here or 4edgetalk). I just do not remember the brands.
Yes, the "thumbnail" drawn on the screen is NOT the same image printed on the Edge unless it's set to High Res. The reason for the different resolutions on the screen was draw / color correction time. With Omega 3.0 we have taken this out but just may have to put it back for some users are...
I'm strictly talking about vinyl ONLY (cut objects) no routing data yet but will go there later. I'm talking about saving material. I need to post a picture. I really can't see nesting Edge jobs. I'm also not sure where to put it, Composer or Plot or both. In Composer it would be more of a...
Ok, is it not time comsuming to apply nested objects back into a sign?
fenris242 - explain your "pain" a little bit more either in this thread or you can email me with examples.
Jill you would have to upgrade ( about the cost of that Europe trip your about to take)
omgsideburns -...
How many Omega users would use a nesting option to nest vinyl only (cut objects) on a specified sheet or roll?
Would anyone want the same for Edge jobs? This would require gradient fills to be rotated / flipped with object.
User would specify sheet/roll size, spacing and rotation increment...
I have not printed on a MAXX in ages but I would select a different halftone and from home here I can not remember the others (Gerber Tone MAXX and another)
