  1. Anybody use Mac?

I have both. Mac for the tough stuff using Adobe(but drifting into Affinity) and a PC with Flexi for the RIP and basic layouts. Maybe one of these years I'll get ambitious and do a VM to run Flexi on a Mac. For right now though everything is humming along, just the way I like it.
  2. Where can I buy some nice beveled fonts?

Did you mean chiseled? If so :https://mr-clipart.com/int/anzeigen_font.php?art_id=1 They work well.
  3. Let's talk buffers...

Fuzzy part of Velcro, Monkey Strips or thick felt squeegee. Like Boudica said, suede. Can't remember the name of the company but several forum members use their micro suede squeegees and really like them.
  4. Dent repair?

Agree with notarealsignguy. A good PDR guy can work magic. Of course if it were me I'd want the manufacturer to send all new bits and give me a discount. The goober that packed that new EXACTLY when he F'ed up the panel but tried to cover his tracks. This seems to be the way of the world...
  5. Need Help Window Perf on vehicle

See...I can be a good source of information once in a while. Okay okay almost never but we'll keep that to ourselves, deal? And yes I do spray all my perf, 'cept for the clients that insist on laminate.
  6. Need Help Window Perf on vehicle

No clue on latex but I assume it would. Optically clear is a non-issue as it only sticks to the perf. Loading it on will cause nothing but grief. I just do a couple light coats and Robert is your dads brother.;)
  7. Need Help Window Perf on vehicle

This 'un rat cheer: https://apps.sherwin-automotive.com/products/show_product.cfm?product=CC64823 IIRC I get them from the local NAPA store. Shrinkin'-Williams Industrial will have it too. Been using it for years.
  8. Need Help Window Perf on vehicle

Hi Mim, not calling you out or anything. All this discussion over water, dirt, detritus, flotsam and jetsam is odd. IF you or your client has an issue with perf don't do it. To the point: if there was a serious crash and window perf was on said vehicle you may be getting a nasty gram from a...
  9. Suggestions Head Cleaning Solvent vs. General Cleaning Solvent??

I make my own "secret blend" based on ArtBots posts. Works well and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. No, I'm not going to share the recipe. Last thing I need is to list ingredients and the next think I know I'm gettin a call from a lawyer.
  10. Need Help Window Perf on vehicle

Umm...laminated and water in the holes? Are you installing laminated perf wet? If so stop it.
  11. Need Help Window Perf on vehicle

Before you do anything else check your local laws. Some require laminate some don't. If your county/state whatever requires laminate you need to use optically clear. Vision will be obstructed. You're covering 50% of the glass. If you're concerned on this or future jobs don't offer the...
  12. 3M 2080 Deep Space..... Have you used it recently?

    Ooooooh that looks great.
  13. Software options

You needed to state that in your initial post. Anyway, the software you need depends on your organizational structure. How many users? Business volume? WIP stores tracking? Job ticket generation? Cut lists? Sign offs for WIP and that's just a small part of things you may need to or want to...
  14. GR-540 Perf Cutting advice

To be quite honest, buy a Graphtec or Summa. To use an old cliché "It's a game changer". Plus there are lots of threads and solid advice on Perf/Flex cutting with those rigs.
  15. Software options

For basic knock it out signage I use Flexi. For more elaborate layouts you're going to need Illustrator/Photoshop or something like Affinity Designer or Photo. I'm doing more with Affinity now.
  16. Ink Leaking/Bypassing

Thanks for the update. I run a DX7 so I'm good. Tech still flushed the new head before installation. Said it's a good idea because ya never know...
  17. Ink Leaking/Bypassing

One of your older posts had the Mutoh TSB attached. Search Mutoh MS31 on this forum.
  18. Ink Leaking/Bypassing

If I'm not mistaken the MS31 causes issues in the older heads. Someone on the forum posted a TSB regarding this.
  19. Mimaki printer stops printing in the middle of the job...no warning from the printer or software

Make sure the print and cut ques are cleared out. Flexi gets fussy when you leave a bunch of jobs in production manager. You may want to check is sleep mode settings on the PC. Had issues with mine until I set it to 3+ hours. Last bit is security running in the background. Some anti-virus...
  20. Ink Leaking/Bypassing

No worries. Got to the point I started pulling and cutting until I found the problem. Soooo....is the new ink drain available? If it isn't I'm not too worried. Now that I know what to watch I should be fine.
