My experience with trying to reuse old signs faces is don't do it. Nothing but headaches, but the client thinks they're saving money.
If it were me I'd bid new pan faces with second surface graphics. They will last longer than the business.

I use LaserForm in Green Bay. Supply them with a DXF file and material specs and you're good to go. Best part is they are a full fab shop. Need custom metal anything they can do it.
