BTW posting the same question twice is bad form. People will eventually get around to you and answer your questions.
BOOM!!!! This right here^^^^^^^^
I try to tell students to remember "Where used?"(poor grammar on purpose) If you aren't putting your nose on it it doesn't have to be killer resolution. They're shocked when I tell them some billboards are in the range of 22 DPI and most do just fine at 28 to...
Would need to have perfectly accurate registration but it could be done. Process would also waste material to make it fast for registering against a fixed point.
Light table with edge for registering/squaring.
Large piece of transfer tape hinged on left side. Transfer tape I used to use would...
Yup, besides being too coarse the Black Blast was used on car parts. Brake calipers and brackets, etc... Way too filthy.
I'll PM you and we can discuss further.
Clean overall but the shadow has too much offset. Makes for an odd visual but then I'm old and wear glasses.
To get more visual "push" stroke the letters(think pinstripe thin) with a carmine red then tighten the offset on the drop shadow.
Taught class last night so I'm still in instructor mode.;)
Wow, thank you for the great information. I had never thought about the process before but now want to try. Blast cabinet is in the shop(HF unit with side door). It has BlackBlast in it so that would need to be switched out.(used for car parts) Airbrush should be in a cabinet...
IMO air compressor = one more thing to "F" up and added noise.
Really beginning to hate the noise in the lab. Going to start wearing ear protection. Ears are still ringing a bit from last night.
Get as much done at the shop as humanly possible. Too many things can go wrong in a hurry when assembling on site.
Not sure how it works in your area but when pulling a permit for blockage of sidewalks, access points etc... it is for a set amount of time.
Personally I never liked being on...
Yup, they have some weight but that shouldn't exclude them from consideration. Just need to engineer the correct mounting system.
Something else to consider is old barn boards. They've done all they're going to do over the last 100 years. I doubt your sign would put them through any more...
Looks like an overlap issue. Had something similar when I had my SP540V. There's a service menu to access the print patterns to check overlap. Don't ask me how or where to get to it though. I sold the printer three years ago.
You also said you replaced the head or heads. There is an...

Or composite(recycled plastic) deck boards. I used those on a large sign in a roundabout a few years back. Not cheap but the ones I used have a 25yr warranty.
Only thing is the cut ends will need to be covered or painted. The deck boards came from Home Depot so I had them color...
Get in touch with Phil from Arimark(Summa). If he's got anything he will tell you. Sometimes he posts show deals here. I bought my Summa from a show a few years ago. Didn't even go to the show.;)
Learning how to create nice graphics is never wasted. When you use prepackaged pieces the finished job reflects that. I run into this with my students. They ask for examples of previous projects for "ideas". I then ask them why they are in class and the unanimous response is...wait for it...
But that's why we're here. To help people that would rather waste the same amount of time posting to a forum as it would take to recreate a simple graphic. Didn't you learn anything from Gino's lecture series?:big laugh:
..."and no one was willing to click on the drop down menu and look at it." There's a huge part of your problem. You could have the bet software in the world but it's worthless if the workers won't use it.
Might be time for you to have the "talk" with them.
BTW the last fab shop I worked...
Like I said in a previous post, everyone wants the easy "fix". Seems no one wants to learn anything anymore. And the old: "Ya gotta start somewhere" has been beat to death.
"Ya gotta start somewhere" now means I'm too lazy to do a simple web search for what I need, or try to figure out the...
