  1. Acrylic Letters to Cement Face

Lexel is about the best you can use for outdoor use - especially with acrylic. It eats into the acrylic. In fact, maybe not coincidentally, it's like when you would assemble models as a kid - the model glue would eat into the plastic pieces. That's what this does. It also smells exactly like...
  2. Acrylic Letters to Cement Face

Looks good. You kicked the light, didn't you? lol.... (kidding, but I've been there...)
  3. Letter track attachment?

Probably doesn't matter, but 3 is non-flammable whereas 4 is flammable. 3 also sets up a bit faster.
  4. Letter track attachment?

Looks like this was mentioned, but most manufacturers of letter track list on their site the distance the track should be spaced. Also, why mess with drilling all of the holes, oversizing them, pop-riveting the track? Weld-On works a whole lot better and faster
  5. Installing acrylic letters to drywall

Agreed, unless using spacers. In which case each letter should have four, otherwise they tend to teeter-totter.
  6. Installing acrylic letters to drywall

There are over 30 different VHB tapes, so it may be you're using the wrong one. Silicone is not an adhesive - it's a sealant. It can typically be peeled off acrylic pretty easily. If only using tape and silicone, replace your silicone with Lexel. That being said, I prefer stud-mounting due to...
  7. Suggestions for Alum extrusions for sign frames

SignComp, ABC and Eastern Metal Supply are all good sources for sign extrusions.
  8. National Sign Chains

Kind of a tricky question...some have multiple locations but don't manufacture at all of them (Federal Heath, Chandler Signs, etc.). YESCO and Pattison are huge.
  9. Can these letters be fabricated?

    I'd send it to SteelArt...
  10. Hanging HDU Sign on Drywall

3M Command Strips - no damage when removed.
  11. Engineering drawings for permit?

Sean McFarland is your guy and he just happens to be in Spring. He's fast and very fairly priced.
  12. My new sign installation lift...

It's meant for concrete/flat surfaces. If you had really flat ground and really hard (it weighs 1400 pounds), maybe. But the tires are perfectly smooth and wouldnt get good traction.
  13. My new sign installation lift...

Thanks...the van pulls really well, can barely tell is back there. Brakes well, too. As far as the upper- and lower-case, it's their 'standard' layout for each brand.
  14. My new sign installation lift...

Used it for the first time yesterday. For these types of installs, it's perfect. Definitely wouldn't have wanted to do these off a ladder. Did the dimensional letters and four 16" x 8'-0" panels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GjxEGrxvNw&feature=youtu.be
  15. My new sign installation lift...

The thing is pretty difficult to drive backwards in confined spaces. The front wheels swivel, so it takes a minute for them to line up and for the lift to get going the right direction. Anyway, got it painted up, picked up a little 5x8 trailer and put together some ramps. I'll be using it on my...
  16. Commercial grade silicone adhesive?

Silicone is available as acetic cure and neutral cure (recommended when working with masonry). GE sells these as GE I and GE II, respectively. While it has adhesive qualities, silicone is technically a sealant - not an adhesive. If you've ever removed acrylic signs that were installed with...
  17. Level or Parallel for parking garage signage?

So at what point is it "right" or "wrong" to install a sign so that it follows the angle of the structure it's on? 4° is right, 5° is wrong? Some are saying definitively in this thread "this is how it should or shouldn't be done" as if there are rules written somewhere on the matter. Opinions...
  18. Level or Parallel for parking garage signage?

    This thread is hilarious...
  19. Digging Equipment.............................

The tow-behind one that Home Depot rents is by far the best I've usedused.
