  1. Does illustrator "bloat" pdf's?

I have no problem with having them all in one file. Actually that's the way I do it too. If the designer was trying to simplify or cut down the file size by creating separate signs, great, but they should be just that, separate. You don't include all the signs in each separate pdf file. When...
  2. How to turn on Flexi tooltips when hovering?

Tooltips don't show when hovering over icons. Just curious if it's a setting somewhere or perhaps a workspace change with newer version.
  3. Does illustrator "bloat" pdf's?

Yes, confirmed that the design was from illustrator. I did, however, fail to mention, rather forgot, that one of the artboards was a 3ftx8ft banner which did have a lot of png images (logos). That, I'm sure, increased the file size too. Also something I would not have done. That banner should...
  4. Does illustrator "bloat" pdf's?

Thanks for the input. Yeah, that's what I meant, "multiple artboards". Each pdf was meant to be a single 18x24 sign but each one includes all. I'm not an adobe user but as a test I "saved all" from illustrator as a pdf. It made a 28pg pdf at 17MB. Hate to say it but I guess the the designer...
  5. Does illustrator "bloat" pdf's?

I received 19 third party pdf files each at 11MB. Each are 18x24, all vector art, black background 3-4 words and 1 vector logo. 11MB! Same file saved from Corel is 229k. Only thing I found by opening one of the pdf's in illustrator is that it contains all 19 signs. So I copy 1 sign and paste to...

  7. Logo Design

Am I the only one who stops right there after that statement and screams WHY!!!! Why would any reputable designer design in photoshop?! Photoshop elements, sure, but the design should always be in a vector program. Sometime down the road you're gonna want it slapped on the side of your van/truck...
  8. NEED HELP. Should be simple

I created a macro that will add a cut line to outlines, no need to do all that mess.
  9. Corel to AI conversion

I use corel 99% percent of the time. If I receive a 3rd party pdf that has the gradients made up of a thousand individual shapes with varying colors I can usually open the file in illustrator then save back out as pdf and it stays as gradient/fountain fill. And no matter what program is used...

  13. HP Latex not printing red

Probably doesn't help but we've always hated the reds coming out of our HP's. Always come out a little orange no matter what. Saw a suggestion to create a profile that doesn't us lm or lc at all but haven't tried it. I'm not the print tech so....
  14. Need Help Here!!!!!

The terms "vector" and "images" should not be referred to as the same. It's either an image (rastor) or vector clipart. FreePik.com narrow search by vector/free vector logos from Brandsoftheworld.com
  15. What's your favorite drill bit for ACM?

Sometimes we'll clamp a stack together then drill the holes.
  16. Can you make pole pockets without a banner welder?

Depends on how the banner will be displayed, size etc. We do a lot of pole pocket banners with hem tape. As long as it's fairly small and hung indoors or carried during a parade. Sometimes we'll add grommets to help hold it together.
