  6. Vendor Application packet - really?!

We've had a similar situation with a local school system. We have to fill out forms, prove we have lots of insurance (or have to purchase more), then sign an affidavit that we have not been and are not sex offenders. I rarely do anything but very simple installations (an age thing), but I...
  7. Reflective Ground Graphics

Do they really need reflective FLOOR graphics, or do they think they do? Most reflective is retro-reflective, sending the light back to the source. So you'd either have to be shining a flashlight down on the decal as you're walking over it, or be in the exact right position for light from...
  8. Anyone recognize this print problem on a Mimaki JV3?

Thanks for your insight. Guesses were cables between slider/heads, slider board, slider-to-main board cables and main board. I turned off the machine with my blood pressure sky-rocketing; later I went back and turned it on, thought I'd do a clean because it could be awhile before it gets...

I had the same experience. Had an issue of Signcraft get damaged, emailed them and had a new copy right away. I like the mag so much I managed to buy all the issues from the first. As long as I'm in the business I'll be subscribing. Money well spent. (Also goes well with a barrel-aged IPA...

  16. Printing and cutting colored vinyl

I've actually printed black on cast yellow, orange and some blues because my client wanted a long outdoor life. At 4-5 years in the sun no ink looks that bright, but the colored vinyl still pops and the black looks pretty good.

We've used Wrisco. Great prices and great to deal with.
  19. Hanging blade sign bracket? How do you hang aluminum blade signs?

I don't trust pvc for outdoor use--it gets brittle when temps get extremely cold. We've use the Harbor brackets and simply use a vise or hammer to narrow the opening to accept ACM or 3mm Sintra. We've also used them to hold 040 aluminum in L frames for realtors, but the wind whipping the signs...
