  1. VG-540 TrueVis

I'm torn between a Soljet, TrueVIS, and HP Latex 560. What were you running before the TrueVIS? Do you have a post heating system attached to it?
  2. Competing With Online Giants Like Vista Print & Custom Ink

We also get to use those online juggernauts to help us sell products we otherwise couldn't even offer. I'm willing to bet none of you have the machines that can throw UV coating on 16pt card stock like 4Over does...but you can offer them to your clients as a convenient add on while their there...
  3. Avery Vinyl with 3M Overlam...no-no or?

Nope. Haven't made up my mind yet. Just dissecting the arguments put forth for and against it.

    Can't say I blame ya.
  5. Looking for input regarding going 100% mobile - no brick-and-mortar

A couple thoughts. Put most of your marketing funds into optimizing your web presence. People aren't thumbing through the yellow pages these days. Wrap one or more of your vehicles and use them as mobile billboard. Connect with businesses that do business with a lot of other businesses. Make...
  6. Avery Vinyl with 3M Overlam...no-no or?

As a wrap installer, Avery's adhesive is much easier to work with. Are you a wrap installer?
  7. Avery Vinyl with 3M Overlam...no-no or?

I'm aware of the cert/warranty issues. However I think you missed the point by listing the other 3M lams as they don't have the life expectancy the Envision does which was the entire point of using it & this thread. I don't warranty wraps that long anyway, but I'd like to know I'm using the...
  8. Avery Vinyl with 3M Overlam...no-no or?

Yes but it's got half the life expectancy than 3M's envision and 3M is always conservative with their claims compared to Avery & Arlon.
  9. Avery Vinyl with 3M Overlam...no-no or?

I'm sure both manufacturers would say it's a no-no but, What are the downsides to laminated Avery 1105 Vinyl with 3M Envision Laminate? I'm trying to get the longest length product and 3M's Envision has it...but I prefer the adhesive of Avery. Questions, Comments, Concerns, Allegations?
  10. Looking for input regarding going 100% mobile - no brick-and-mortar

30 years doing business in your community and a couple shops moving in is ruining you? You need to start doing some more things right and some less things wrong. Word spreads fast among business owners. If you are the best at what you do (you should be after 30 years there) and you stand behind...

Will the Donald fix this? Possible.
  12. install price for semi

PS. Whatever happened to keeping the pricing out of the open forums? Just sayin.
  13. install price for semi

$8 per sq.ft. would leave $5k to divide up for profit, install, & overhead. Couple days work...that's money to most wrap shops. Some however don't have the manpower or free printer space to tie up on a single job like that & might net more over that same time period on several smaller jobs...
  14. See the Difference Avery 1005 vs 1105

That is exactly what you are seeing. I can't say if it is due to different batches or different models 1005 vs 1105 because both are true in this case.
  15. Add Camo Dipping to your Services

So you don't have to be licensed as a "MANUFACTURER" but you DO have to be licensed as a "DEALER" but only if you are in the "BUSINESS OF" camouflaging or engraving... Looks like you can do your own all day long as a hobby with no licensing whatsoever.
  16. Buying polycarbonate & acrylic sheets from china ocean freight save 60% vs usa

Market Price VS. Market Value: My question is ...are you going to price your product down for the customer with the difference in what you are saving on materials so you can be the lowest price seller or are you going to pocket all that difference? Reason I ask is if you do the former...you...
  17. Wraps and the Worth of Installers

Not trying to be rude, but maybe you meant to post this in a different thread as it is not related to this one that I can see. This one is about the monetary value of quality wrap installers. Your list is about pricing wraps and educating clients. Just sayin.
  18. Signs2Trade

LOL well they aren't lying when they say they are wholesale to trade. They just didn't mention they are wholesale to non-trade as well. Lame
  19. See the Difference Avery 1005 vs 1105

I agree and typically employ that practice. However I did not have a choice on this job. As for expecting them to be the same...a little variance is one thing with slight white points effecting the color. But the ink banding on one vs no banding on the other is completely different. That's the...
