  2. Timpte grain hopper

Has anyone here had any experience applying decals onto a Timpte grain hopper like the one shown? We have a customer that would like a 48" x 23" logo applied to both sides of the trailer. The material would be 3M 1080/2080 white aluminum metallic with a full-color contour cut print so I'd be...
  3. long lasting print on coroplast

Coroplast is the problem. AlumaCorr with cast cut vinyl graphics should meet your requirements for being lightweight and durable for up to 10 years. As far as what you call light scratch resistance, cut vinyl should hold up just fine to snow and ice, or at least I would assume it would.
  4. What Software Do You Use for Cut Only?

I like Sign Cut Pro 2. Costs a little over $100 a year I believe.
  5. Material ID

I would think polystyrene or foam pvc would be ideal for that type of display. In the photo, it looks like a banner but if it was a banner I doubt you'd be asking so I'm gonna go with polystyrene. Is it somewhat rigid?
  6. Font Help Sparrowbush

Some form of Eras, most likely Eras Bold.
  7. Well, it's finally happening...

Hahaha! You obviously don't know this client. It will be at least another week before we likely hear anything. They have to send it over to the company who's equipment the wrap is advertising for co-op. These guys are busy and don't do anything too fast.
  8. Stop signs with louvers

They use these at intersections at two-way stops with tight angles so there is no confusion as to which road is supposed to continue moving and which road is supposed to stop. Traffic that is moving can't see the word stop so they know the sign serves the crossroad, not the road on which they...
  9. Stop signs with louvers

It's definitely an Illinois thing but may not be as common in some other states. After a little more digging, I think they might be called shields or blinders. I found some through Tapco but not the style they are looking for. https://www.tapconet.com/product/blinder-for-stop-sign Here's a...
  10. Stop signs with louvers

Our local city government is looking to replace a stop sign that was stolen. Unfortunately, the stolen sign had louvers that block the visibility of the sign to traffic from other directions. I called Grimco and two other traffic sign suppliers and they don't carry these. Does anyone here know...
  11. Well, it's finally happening...

Yeah, design work will be a separate line item at about $300. I've adjusted my pricing on the trailer now to where we are at roughly $3000.00 with design and installation included. I think this is enough to make us and the customer happy. We will see. I sent an estimate over thirty minutes ago.
  12. Well, it's finally happening...

I can totally appreciate what you're saying and agree, but I do believe my price may be a bit high based on what others are saying. At the very least, I'm going to reduce my labor figures by 25% because that is likely where I'm off. This will still put me at close to $3000 and I'm comfortable...
  13. Well, it's finally happening...

Thanks for the insight and the comedic relief. I really couldn't agree more.
  14. Well, it's finally happening...

I've never felt that wraps are something for me or for our business model. I have enough on my plate without having to learn something that, let's face it, could be considered an art form. Guys and gals that can easily wrap front bumpers, side view mirrors, round fenders, etc. just blow my mind...
  15. Well, it's finally happening...

Thanks. Despite how a lot of people in the industry feel about the 'Avery debacle' many years back, I do know it is highly recommended as probably the best in the biz for ease of install and I am actually considering buying an Avery wrap kit for this job. Yeah, I haven't had a lot of...
  16. Well, it's finally happening...

I agree with this, especially since it's a brand new trailer and the screws should be mostly easy to remove. Everybody has their own opinion on going over or under screws, but I prefer going under them. This is a new trailer so there is no removal required. I'm actually already very aware of...
  17. Well, it's finally happening...

I have been thinking my price feels like it's on the high side. I've probably had enough install experience with other jobs over the years to make it work. I'm not sure if wrap installers are even available for hire in our area or where I would look for such a resource. I don't have any desire...
  18. Well, it's finally happening...

Let me just start off by saying we don't do wraps. We do some partial wraps and some larger print and cut graphics but that's it. So, we have a customer who is not only a good customer but they also own the property that we rent to run our business out of. We have developed a great...
  19. American rescue plan, do we need more stimulus?

From our annual profits, about 45% is generated from sign work and the remaining 55% is from apparel decoration. Sign work has remained steady as can be through this entire last year, but apparel decoration dropped off substantially to the point where our total annual sales were down 35% last...
  20. Keeping those fingerprints off vinyl media?

We use these. They are good and cheap. https://www.uline.com/BL_624/Deluxe-Nylon-Inspection-Gloves?keywords=cloth+gloves
