Are you inserting the beads by hand? We have a tool on our Vision that puts the beads in automatically. Honestly, the applique is more of a pain than the Braille.
Ikarusu - what machines are you referring to? The XPJ661UF was really made for ADA sign printing, whereas 4x8 flatbed printers are typically not. I believe it is 30 minutes to print an 18x22 size bed. Not lightning fast, but this is an entry level unit for like $30k. The Vision isn't exactly...
I'm not trying to pump out 100 signs a day. The Mutoh machine will be plenty fast for us production-wise, from what I can tell. I am asking for user experience of this machine. Pros & cons of switching to printing vs engraver cut ADA signs. Can you expand on your last sentence? I don't know...
We currently have a Vision engraver that we make ADA signs from. It works OK, but is labor intensive. It also requires a higher level skill than printing (we have a large flatbed printer). We don't have huge volume, but when we get a larger ADA sign job, it can really bog us down. Anyone...
I have a project with a few 12ft long square steel poles that I would like to make look like wood. I know we can wrap with digital print film. The grain pattern gets a little cheezy looking up close though. I would also prefer something a little more durable long-term. Has anyone use 3M...
We are attempting to flatbed print onto some ribbed plastic panels. The recesses are about 5/8" deep. I knew the print would fuzz out, but I was hoping it wouldn't be this bad. Overall graphic size is about 8ft x 14ft, so hoping we don't have to go the vinyl route. Is this doable with a...
14ft x what length? Even if you find someone that can go that large, that could be a difficult install. SEG requires a very precise fit. Signcomp sells a frame that you can install fabric in without the silicone bead. That might be a good fit for such large graphics like this, you have some...
I saw a demo of this at a show this week. It was pretty impressive from what I saw. It integrates your estimating / shop management very well with your RIP stations. If we were a bigger shop running 20+ print orders a day, this would be a very interesting option.
Dealing with collision repair places can be real dicey. They are not the owners of the vehicles, so they are not going to be knowledgeable or care about branding. I would recommend providing sample pieces for PACE to sign off on in the future. In sketch 3rd party deals like this, I always get...
Matthews satin has a pretty slick surface that could be difficult to get UV print to adhere well. Adhesion promoters eat into the surface, which could give you an uneven finish. It might be best to spray matte clear on the Matthews paint to have a finish that has more for the ink to bite into.
Something that anchors into the ground is best, as Visual800 suggested. As for anchoring something into the "high points", that might work OK on the brick side, but I would be very leery to attach to the frame of the window side. Stress on the frame could crack the glass.
I put a line item on all exterior sign quotes that says permit fees are procurement fee (with a dollar amount) plus actual permit costs. If municipality requires a stamped engineer drawing, it is $X amount extra. Of course if I know an engineer drawing is required, I include it. I never quote...
It is important to remove the protectant sheet for 48-72hrs before applying the vinyl. It’s hard to say that is the cause here. What signheremd said about the flexing seems likely to be the problem.
This needs to be outdoor durable. Dry erase lam is only good for interior use. Where do you get Vandel guard lam from? Least expensive lam I found was $425 for 54"x75ft roll.
Hello - looking for a wholesaler for a few small prints with anti graffiti laminate. We have used Avery's version in the past, but it takes us forever to go through a roll. Would rather not spend $400-800 on a roll of laminate for a small job.
