Hello guys,,
I’m making an outside backlight sign 4x8.
What would you guys think will last more a white acrylic (could also laminate) with front print or a clear acrylic with back print and white ink on the back?
It’s going to be printed with UV flatbed printer.
Thanks

Go demo a Swissqprint. Since you already know OCE, you can make a good comparative. Their printers Seem like they will last forever and they are as reliable as they get.

Our swissqprint is a true flat bed,, but when need to print large panels you can also advance the material trough the bed. You use a mesh to advance the material. It takes two-three minutes to set up. Works really well.

Depends on the work you do. Latex is more focused on variety printing and medium to low cost. Vinyl, banner, backlights, canvas. Epson will have way more quality, but the square feet cost of ink should be around double of the latex. Epson is more fit for high quality printing when printing...
It's the material it's a common problem when using latex with some cheap brands or old materials.
Seen that many times when trying different banner brands.

Have you make tests on how much ink you save vutek vs swissq by square meter?
Save on ml or its the ink less expensive? Probably both...
We are getting to a point that we need another printer also... another swissqprint, a vutek or a Durst are on the list.

I am a duratrans printer and our Latex backlights come pretty darn close to our duratrans. Also worth mentioning that the Lx1500 and 3000 can print better backlights than the smaller latex printers. This is because smaller printers can't dry the amount of ink the big ones can.
You will need...
Even when using Lights on both latex is less grainy than UV. Although the big format Latex printers don't have very good definition.

You really should be thinking about the big printers. One 3000 is way easier to manage and maintain and needs way less labor than 15 570's. Also the 3000 will need less space . And having 15 HP printers, What a tech nightmare!! That's 90 HP print heads that need to be working good!!!

It looks like you need to sell two of those printers and get a 3000. At least a 1500. It will pay for itself fast with the ink cost difference.
