  1. Credit Cards

There are 11 states which have outlawed "convenience fees" or surcharges for using credit cards. Everywhere else it's legal. In Missouri, even our state is ripping us off on taxes by requiring us to file and pay online "due to COVID", and the only way to pay online is by credit card. And they...
  2. Thoughts on the Epson s70670?

Agree. All ink is Epson brand. I have never had bad ink.
  3. Attaching PVC Cut letters to Brick

I think I'd not go by the rendering for installation either. Better to put the letters in line with the horizontal brick lines.
  4. Windows 11

The good thing is Windows 10 doesn't reach end of support until October, 2025. So you have lots of time, even if you don't have TPM on your computer.
  5. Attaching PVC Cut letters to Brick

VHB tape does not stay stuck to brick. It'll stick for a while, then fall off. Maybe a month, maybe a year later. But fall it will. Glue will help. In that case, the VHB tape is just to hold it until the glue sets. But make sure the glue sticks to the PVC.
  6. Thoughts on the Epson s70670?

I am using an S70670 I have had since the introduction. You can use the orange+ ink if you want but it doesn't help with longevity. For outdoor signs and banners I have made profiles that only use CMYKLcLm and get normal durability. Before I realized the problem, I had done a bunch of signs and...
  7. IPA is damaging our coroplast -- printing shows it and it's BAD

It's probably the excess of hops in the IPA causing the problems.
  8. Can i wrap a matte car ?

We havew wrapped cars that had peeling clearcoat which was just sanded smooth, rendering the finish essentially matte. It works fine. What doesn't work is wrapping an 80s-90s era GM car or truck which had the galvanized sheetmetal that the paint falls off in giant flakes. The vinyl will not...
  9. PAPER SIGNS QUESTION

It's usually heat causing the paper to buckle and leading to head strikes.
  10. New Guy Epson S80600 color issues

You'll actually get better printing by using one you download from Onyx's website than what you posted. I'd start there. Unfortunately for that newer printer there are only 3 profiles available, one a test profile, one for vinyl and one for some offbrand banner in two weights. Older printers...
  11. New Guy Epson S80600 color issues

    Yes. Bad profile.
  12. Safe temperatures for storing sign equipment ***

Humidity is what kills paper premask. You might not have much of it there. Vinyl that gets too hot begins to stick to the release paper. I started out working in a shop that was unairconditioned (a very long time ago). Finally convinced my boss to air condition the office and store the materials...
  13. Need Help! Deleting old graphics ghost letters

That's fiberglass up there. What you're seeing is that the gelcoat behind the letters is still glossy and new, while the gelcoat around it has been sun damaged and turned chalky. Buffing can bring the shine of the dull gelcoat back up and hide the evidence of the old lettering. The hard part is...
  14. Getting weird outline on mouth, eyes, hands, skin on banner

It looks like overoptimization and posterization. It's possible that someone used Photoshop to "enhance" the photo and make it "punchier". Sometimes this is the result. Otherwise, it could be your sign software or RIP which is doing the same thing.
  15. Glass Photo Panels

A glass supplier won't be able to make what he needs. It has to have a polyester coating which is receptive to the sublimation inks. The brand of the blanks is ColorLyte. Do a Google search and find other vendors. In a quick search I found Amazon sells them at triple Conde's price. Coastal...
  16. Exterior PVC Expansion and Contraction

Most signs we use ACP (Aluminum Composite Panel). We don't find it necessary to always frame it. If rigidity of a blade is needed, we use the 6mm thick ACP. For hanging signs we use either MDO or straight aluminum as they are better at holding the fasteners. But we stay away from hanging signs...
  17. Domed / lensed decals - material enquiry

When we did domed decals, it wasn't a matter of finding some specific amount (we were hand applying using a syringe) of resin. It was applying enough without applying too much. I guess if you had one of those automated dispensers you'd have to figure out the number of milliliters.
  18. Exterior PVC Expansion and Contraction

We don't use PVC outside. Even if they say you can. As you have found, it's unstable with temperature changes, and even in thick panels it warps.
  19. Six foot cutout PVC sign

Make your own stand out of PVC or coroplast with a knife.
  20. Cutting Magnetic material

We make circles the same way we make rectangular ones. Hand cut. The X-Acto works better than a snap-off blade knife for circles. They key is realizing you don't have to cut all the way through magnetic material to cut it.
