  1. We are adding subcontractors

I think it really depends on what kind of subcontractor you are talking about. Some of them, you will be buying a product from, which you have designed. That would be the service providers who make decals, banners, signs, and the like, such as some of the vendors here or signs365. They usually...
  2. Does anyone here know where to get LOW tack application tape?

Maybe your idea of a paintmask is different from mine, but we don't have any trouble at all with the application tape we use on paintmask--and we typically use the same high tack appliucation that we use for sign vinyl.
  3. Does anyone here know where to get LOW tack application tape?

Pretty much every application tape manufacturer has a low, medium, and high tack. You just have to ask for the one you want when you buy it. It's not rocket science, no secret products.
  4. Life Size Cut Outs "Standees" Base

We cut them by hand with just a knife. It's easy to cut the locking tab into it. Just look at the cardboard ones you can buy at Staples.
  5. Does anyone here know where to get LOW tack application tape?

Grimco, Fellers, N. Glantz, pretty much all major sign supply companies carry low tack application tape.
  6. Suggestions Green reflective, White text

around here they just steal the whole sign to hang in their dorm room
  7. Suggestions Green reflective, White text

We use Avery 1100, but the 3M 5100R would be the same. There is no need for an overlaminate when you use the cut vinyl; it's only necessary when you print to protect the ink. I've never lettered on the specific product you are talking about, since the blanks we use have EGP reflective. Cuttable...
  8. Suggestions Green reflective, White text

They don't sell the approved stuff as being cuttable. It would depend on the governing authority whether you can use cut vinyl lettering on the sign. We commonly use it for street signs on green or blue reflective blanks, but that is governed by the city, not the state. If it's for the national...
  9. Suggestions Green reflective, White text

With cut white reflective vinyl lettering
  10. Ugh....WHY!?!?!

I just called my Grimco rep to ask if they've changed the way they make blanks. She was not aware of any change. She did suggest it might mean they came from a different manufacturing plant. They have two, one in Owensville, MO, which is where my product always comes from. They are the original...
  11. Graphtec 8600 - drawing pen with new paper type

If the problem only occurs over long lengths it would seem to involve the paper slipping side to side as it goes through the plotter. This can happen from the rollers not having enough friction with the paper surface, or with the paper stiffness causing it to kink as it lands in the basket. If...
  12. Suggestions Permanent decal on rubber floor basketball court

Check with the manufacturer of the flooring. If it's something like Connor XT, putting the wrong things will void the floor warranty. That type of flooring only allows marking with a two part polyurethane floor marking paint (the stuff they paint the stripes and lane with). You even have to use...
  13. Economical printer, to print on engineer grade, reflective adhesive label material

If you want the decals to last more than 2-3 years or to be able to survive abrasion, then you do need to laminate them for outdoor use after printing. The printers that print onto sign vinyl are all going to require shipping via common carrier or private carrier. They cannot be UPSed. If you...
  14. Graphtec 8600 - drawing pen with new paper type

What drawing error are you seeing? How thick is the paper? I can't imagine a paper thick enough to be the cause of a problem in drawing.
  15. Need Help American Flag vector file

Took me about 8 seconds to find this by doing exactly what I said: https://www.countryflags.com/united-states-flag-vector/
  16. Need Help American Flag vector file

Did you try typing "American flag vector clipart" into a Google search?
  17. Question Multi-Layered Printing?

Do it with two pieces of vinyl. Print the first image on clear vinyl. Print the second on white vinyl which is white on the back. Install the clear vinyl on glass, then install the white vinyl over it.
  18. Question Multi-Layered Printing?

I don't think this will work on the Epson. Even if you get it to print it, you will see the reverse image through the white. It's not opaque.
  19. Need Help Translucent Vinyl Turning Black

Agree. That's as long as a printed graphic will last. Many don't even go 7 years.
  20. Need Help Digital Print Rip programs

Why do you need to replace Onyx 10? It still works.
